As I reflect on the events that transpired, it becomes abundantly clear how misunderstanding and hostility can manifest on our roads.

The incident began when I was unjustly issued a speeding ticket by Alabama state trooper Officer S. Williams. Prior to this, I had experienced harassment from a male driver who seemed enraged that I was allowed to proceed first at the Walmart intersection.

Because he had to stop for a red light, his frustration turned into reckless behavior as he abruptly cut me off, forcing me to slam on my brakes to avoid a collision.

His aggressive driving was a direct result of the anger he felt while waiting at the busy traffic light just outside the Walmart Supercenter in Phenix City, Alabama.

Interestingly, it was this male driver who was actually speeding and was much further ahead of me when I was pulled over by an Alabama state trooper. I even captured the entire incident on my dashboard camera, which remained a witness to the chaotic chain of events. However, as the trooper approached my car, I felt an unsettling sense of being specially targeted.

He claimed to have clocked me going 86 MPH in a 65 MPH zone, which did not seem credible given my recent experience with the male driver. When I pointed out the harassment I had endured and questioned him about the true instigator of the situation, his dismissive reply was shocking; he stated, "I’m not worried about him, I got you." In that moment, I couldn't help but feel his decision to issue me the ticket was influenced by sexism, compounded by the fact that I am a female driver.

The fine amounted to $300, which was a blow to me, especially as I was recovering from an MRSA infection in the hospital at the time of my court date. My son had to step in to ensure the payment was made on my behalf, highlighting the burden this situation placed on my family. I’ve often wondered about the motivations behind being singled out for such treatment.

A few months after the incident, I learned that the Alabama state troopers had visited the home of Ashley and Chas Hawthorne on three separate occasions.

Their newfound connection to the state troopers led me to believe that they might be ingratiating themselves in order to rally support against me, fostering a climate of fear that made me anxious about getting behind the wheel ever again.

Ashey and Chas Hawthorne will befriend anyone. To get at me still nearly 13 years later after 2012. When they tried their hardest. To isolate me and make me a prisoner in my own home.

Now the Hawthornes are putting fear in me. About having to be worried about being harassed by the Alabama state troopers.

This is why bad drivers get away with. They're criminal bad driving behavior. Because the Alabama state trooper pick on innocent female drivers or if they know somebody. Like the Hawthornes which they are sicken the Alabama state troopers on me.
