They advertise this as a warranty program - it isn’t. It pays for repairs up to a certain point (dollars) and NOT for the actual time advertised. This isn’t disclosed before purchase, during purchase or even right after purchase. My disabled daughter had her ipad break multiple times. We submitted a claim and were denied just 12 months into a 24 month warranty because apparently the unadvertised and undisclosed cap was hit. We asked about this, were told we would be contacted and never were. We plan to look into all of our legal and regulatory options over this - it may be time to attorney shop now as well as report this to regulatory agencies for fraud as they seem disinterested in helping. AVOID!

UPDATE - I spoke with (and recorded the telephone call with) a member of their team at squaretrade who called me about my 1 star review. I was told that they have a cap on repairs for warrantied items that isn't disclosed until after you have purchased the item. He used an analogy that "you don't know everything about an ipad when you buy it either". I emphasized that I felt that this was a bait and switch and felt defrauded. He apologized about how I felt, leaned on the terms and conditions of the policy (that aren't ever provided when purchasing the policy) and said there wasn't anything that they can do as the policy (that should still be in effect date-wise) has been completed. He assured me that nothing can be done. It was only when I informed him that #1 the call was recorded, #2 I would be contacting regulatory agencies about this fraud and #3 I would be looking at legal options - potentially including class action - that he informed me that it could now be reviewed and that I would receive a response in 24 hours. It was a clear blow-off to get me off of the telephone.

Squaretrade and Allstate Protections are a Bait and Switch Scam. This rises to the clear level of fraud and this ripoff shouldn't be allowed to continue praying on people who are purchasing the "protection" in good faith.

Scam, Rip Off, Con, Fraud and basically any other words you can think of are not strong enough to describe this experience. I am open to fielding offers from any class action attorneys at this point to be a lead plaintiff as it is clear that Allstate and Square Trade have zero intention in acting in good faith.

Tldr: SCAM, Rip Off, Con, Fraud, AVOID!

Do you really expect a $100 protection plan to buy multiple new ipads for your disabled child who apparently smashes them once a week? Coverage caps are very common for any kind of insurance plan. Oh, and I just checked and when buying a plan, there is a link to the full terms and conditions. They are also easy to find on their website. Oh, and had you bothered reading the T&Cs, you would know that they contain a class action waiver. So good luck with that class action, let us know how it works out for you.
