Amazing Paving & Seal Coating - signed a contract for 2 Projects, never came on schedule, lied too much said they are not making any money Carlstadt New Jersey

I requested a contractor through Thumbtack Website to do driveway concrete and sidewalks.  Amazing Paving & Seal Coating located at 722 6th Street, Car;stadt, NJ 07072 responded to the request that I had with Thumbtack.  On April 16, 2025 I signed a contract with Frank, the owner, at Amazing Paving to do the driveway and we agreed to do the work for $2300.00 with a $1000.00 deposit.

I spoke with Steve at Amazing Paving, he is the son of the owner.  I sent him pictures of the driveway and we  discussed the total deal of $2300.00 and a deposit of $1000.00 by check for the driveway only - complete and finish.  His father looked at the driveway and he agreed for $2300.00 complete and finish of the concrete work, 6" concrete, 3" gravel base, and mesh wire. He did not want to take the check he wanted Cash.  This was a big problem - but in the end he took it.

And the problems started in the first week.  Frank came to my home with 3 people without proper tools to do the concrete demolition, after 2 previous No Show times.  I had to go to Home Depot with one of Frank's workers to rent a heavy demolition hammer to do the work.  We have pictures.  Frank was scheduled to come to my home at 9 AM and showed up at 2 PM to do the work and came unprepared.

I made another deal with Frank to do the 2nd project for my sidewalks - I thought I made a good decision but it was the worst decision.  Within 3 weeks I had nothing more than problems - nothing has been done to present except breaking up the driveway and breaking some of the sidewalks which on May 1, 2025 I sent Frank a message to cancel the project regarding the sidewalks only, and that we need the $1500.00 deposit that we paid - he went against our wishes and broke the sidewalks and he left the property leaving the debris creating a false scenario that I needed a permit from the County.  I went to the County in person and was told I do not need a permit.  I came back from the County and Frank and his crew left my home unattended without my knowledge at 1 PM.  All this was just an excuse for Frank to leave and do another job.  I have pictures and documents to support my complaint.
