I brought in two jackets to be dry cleaned; both were Adolpho brand jackets. One was beige and the other vivid black. They lost the black one and tried to give me a different one, (a dull charcoal gray Savannah brand jacket), than what I turned in. It wasn’t mine, I didn’t want it and so I was told I would be given $18 "Store Credit" by Ellen, in Customer Service.

Later, I brought in a pair of jeans to have the zipper replaced and told the employee that I had the $18 credit. Then, I get a very snotty message on my phone from Ellen saying that I do NOT have any “store credit” and the jeans would cost $20. When I called her back, she first adamantly denied ever talking to me and that no one had told me that. But then, she magically remembered talking to me and claimed that I was told I would get a “Gift Certificate” for only $15, which is not true, and then told me it had been mailed to me although I have never gotten any kind of gift certificate or correspondence from them.

Then she told me that a Gift Certificate is only good for a certain period of time, but, again, I told her that I did not receive one! I asked her to check her records so she can verify that and she is unwilling to verify that because, as she says, that would be” too much of a bother going through all that paper” since they don’t keep electronic records.

Then, she called and left a very condescending and snotty message informing me that my jacket (and she specified that it is the “charcoal Gray Savannah jacket”) is STILL hanging in the store. But, that is the jacket that is not mine! I don’t understand why she is so confused. I turned in a black Adolpho jacket and they want to give me a charcoal grayish looking Savannah jacket that is not mine. I have both of her messages saved on my phone and I also have photos of the other Adolpho jackets I have.

When I see a style of clothing I really like I usually buy more than one color. I had bought 4 different colors of the Adolpho brand jacket and the black one was my only black jacket that I owned of any style. I just want the agreed on $18 compensation for the jacket they lost applied to the cost of repair for my jeans that they are holding hostage and I’m tired of arguing with them about it. I realize it's only an $18 dispute, but it's more about the principal of being disrespected and treated as if I'm a liar!
