Angie's list, Home advisor, Angie's list lies, cheats, steals, does and says anything to get your $ & never give any back!

I was investigating Angie's list  for an HVAC service company I was planning to operate in the near future, however  was and still are unlicensed to  contract as an HVAC contractor, I do not even have a business license as of yet to perform work under  $500  like a handyman can without  a  need to be licensed by the state, however  everyone need s abusines license  at minimum to do anything.

I was tricked into providing my  checking account #/ debit card information  during the registration  process.  I wa spromised a website they  would design and assist  me in implementing it  and getting jobs.

As soon as they got my fiscal data  I was promised  "LadyX" would get back to me soon to  continue with me in completing my registration and website etc.

I was diagnosed with  kidney cancer and as a result my plans on opening a HVAC business was obviously  put on hold, I was unavailable to work  in addition to  not being legally  able to  work  so naturally I asssumed since Angies list / Home advisor vetted every expert they list on their website, BEFORE it is listed ! according to them, they would not & could not proceed with listing me as a vetted HVAC business available now to work.

Imagine my  shock to  learn my  account was dinged  for $350  for  a month  of allegedly  listing my business since they went ahead  and despite not having a website for me and having an incorect  phone number for me listed in the ad  so  even IF anyone  responded to my listing, they  could not reach me as the phone number was  wrong!

My girlfriend called them  to tell them  the problems and my status  and they simply behaved as if everything was fine and I was ignoring customers  who responded to  the listing they made  with the wrong phone number for a busness  they never vetted  and was unlicensed!  THey continued to ignore me  and her repeated calls  and emails  however amazingly enough  Angies list  had my correct  phone number when it came to them  trying to bill me  for  doing nothing!

I am possibly  dying, fighting for my life with  $2k to my name  ands Angies List  went ahead  and billed me  for a 2nd month of  the bogus listing, which was so bad  I  doubt anyone  called it  as I had  0 references  compared to everyone else  with  many  thousands! my website was non existant and the listing looked shabby  and low busdget  with no reason to  gamble on trying!

I had to  tell my bank to change my account #s  to  finally stoop  ANges who was trying to get  a 3rd   biling  !  despite me dying  and not being vetted  etc etc, I was then told I owed them $4,200  since I "cancelled" within the first year!!! SOmething never told to me  and opposite of their sales pitch  which was confusing as they  pretty much told me  I could do  everything myself  free as far as being listed by them which  really confused me, but that was the ide I guess.  As of now they stil have my money  although I did get the bank to   retract  1 month they stole from me!

I see they have been doing this for years now, too bad  it seemed  like a good idea,  but  what  kind of outfit  tricks  you into a 1 year commitment  for  over $4k and then tries to threaten you with collections  too which i already  received  now!
