A fellow bible college graduate, Arlie Ponds, also a trusted friend asked me for $2000. I told him I did not have money to ouright give to him as a gift but I would give him a short term $2000 loan.
Being a fellow Christian, married and having a son Jonathon A Ponds and involved in our community, I felt he was an upstanding person of high integrity and did not think for a moment he would not repay me.
Over a long period of time I occasionally kept in touch with Arlie about this debt and was always met with assurance fo repayment and he volunteered interest as well. Never has he made his word, his bond, good.
Recently I contacted his wife, a very successful author and activist only to find out she had divorced him because he was scamming other Christians as well. She calls him a Christian Con Artist. She said he has done things she does not want associated with her name.
Arlie had not worked for a 17 year period of time, depending upon his wife for support while they raised their only son. All the while scamming other caring Christians.
