My problems with the Aspirus Langlade Hospital, are as follows:

Wrongly done CT Scan of TMJ Right Jaw by Imaging Dept.

THIS IS WHERE IT ALL BEGAN AND HAS ESCALATED TO THE FOLLOWING DEPARTMENTS.  ALL BECAUSE THE ASPIRUS HOSPITAL HAS IGNORED AND REFUSED TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEMS I HAVE WITH THEIR HOSPITAL SYSTEM

Supervisor of the Imaging Dept.

Patient Experience Supervisor

President of Aspirus Langlade Hospital

President and CEO of Aspirus Hospitals and Clinics in Wausau, WI

Billing Department

Pain Management Department, doctors and staff

Aspirus Clinic - PA, staff and Clinic Manager

Aspirus Ear, Nose and Throat Clinic in Wausau, WI

When my husband and I first moved to Antigo, Wisconsin, I was WARNED by several people to Stay Away from Aspirus Langlade Hospital.  I regret that I should have listened to their sound advise.

The problem is that they are the only Hospital System in Langlade and other nearby counties, so there is little choice.  I guess this is why their Management feels no need to respond to my complaints nor offer a reasonable solution.  This is generally what happens, when there is no real competition.

I NO LONGER GO TO THE ASPIRUS HOSPITAL AND HAVE NOT BEEN THERE SINCE March, 2025.  At first, all seemed well, but my problem - now multiplied to many problems, with them first began in December, 2024 when I was sent there, by a Primary Care Physician at another clinic system - for a CT Scan of the Jaw, which included the TMJ joint on the right side.  I have been suffering with TMD problems since July, 2024 and still continues to this very day.

I told 3 hospital personnel, in the Scheduing Dept, Imaging Dept and the Technician who did the scan - 5 times that my problems are with the TMJ joint being mis-aligned and the CT Scan needed to show the jaw in MOVEMENT, so that the images would be useful to any doctor or dentist who would be treating me.

To make a long story short, the CT Scan was not done correctly, so it is useless to any other medical professional and dentist.  My verbal complaint to the Imaging Dept. Supervisor was met with insults, rudeness and outright refusal to help.  This supervisor even accused me of not telling the truth.

Written complaints to Patient Experience Supervisor and President of Aspirus Langlade Hospital were met with denial of any and all responsibility and refusal to resolve the problem with a few better images.

Written complaint to the President and CEO of Aspirus Hospitals were NOT responded to.  My 6 subsequent phone calls to the CEO's office were never returned.

The Billing Dept first told me to write a detailed letter to the Supervisor of Billing for a result.  I did this, and the letter was never responded to.  I was told that the Patient Experience Supervisor has BLOCKED ANY ATTEMPTS ON MY PART TO REACH OUT TO ANY HOSPITAL OFFICIAL AND HAS CLOSED MY CASE WITH NO APPEAL.  

This Patient Experience Supervisor is cruel, argumentative, refuses to give me any credibility for my side of the story and refuses - above all - to resolve the matter.

NOTE:  There is a $300 co payment for the CT Scan, which I would have gladly paid - IF THE IMAGING DEPT HAD DONE IT CORRECTLY AND LISTENED TO ME.

MY SOLUTION IS TO HAVE THE IMAGING DEPT DO 2 OR 3 MORE IMAGES NEEDED TO SHOW THE JAW IN MOVEMENT, ADD THAT TO THE ORIGINAL REPORT AND RE-DO THE CD DISK, SO I COULD HAVE A COMPLETE REPORT.

SOUNDS REASONALBLE - YOU MIGHT SAY, BUT NOT SO FOR THIS HOSPITAL WHO REFUSES TO ADMIT ANY WRONG DOING.  REFUSES TO TAKE ANY RESPONSIBLITY.

Since then and related to this CT Scan complaint, I have also had severe problems with the Aspirus Pain Clinic, who refused to help me with some medication or cortisteriod injection to relieve the severe pain I was having in my neck and jaw.

This Pain Clinic has also banned me from their practice for 3 full years all because I asked them for help for my pain.  This is why I say that Aspirus Hospitals is NOT where you want to go for compassion.

My one and only visit to the Aspirus Clinic on March 10, 2025, was met with a PA who was hostile from the moment she walked into the room.  Refused any help for my pain, and even had the nerve to tell me, in front of my husband, that she wished I had NOT shown up for the appoint ment at all.

My phone call to the Aspirus Ear, Nose and Throat Center in Wausau was met with me speaking to a horrible woman, who mocked me and the pain I was in.  Poked fun and at me and said they would not make any appointments for me.

ALL EFFORTS, FROM DECEMBER, 2024 TO THIS VERY DAY, JUNE 6, 2025, HAVE BEEN IN VAIN.

ALL BECAUSE ASPIRUS HOSPITALS HAS, IN MY OPINION, A CULTURE OF CRUELTY AND UNCARING!

THIS REPORT IS TRUTHFUL AND BASED UPON MY ACTUAL EXPERIENCES AND IS BEING REPORTED AS MY RIGHT TO REVIEW THIS HOSPITAL SYSTEM AFFORDED TO ME BY THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AS FREE SPEECH UNDER THE FIRST AMMENDMENT!

I am in the process of seeking help from medical and dental providers OUTSIDE ASPIRUS WITH NO AFFILIATION WITH THEM WHATSOEVER.  Those providers who take my insurance.

I have shown this CT Scan report and Image Disk to 2 Specialty Dentists and BOTH have said that they CANNOT USE THESE IMAGES TO HELP ME WITH THE JAW TMD PROBLEM.  This is because there is not enough information and not showing my jaw in motion on the right side.

I have also filed major complaints so far, with

My Humana Insurance

The State of Wisconsin Dept of Health - Dept of Quality Assurance.

This is in attempts to gain validation from my complaints and to achieve a solution.

Right now, this horrible Aspirus Hospital has sent my account of $300 to a COLLECTION AGENCY, which I now have to respond to.

TO THE FOLKS OUT THERE READING THIS REPORT:  

I REMAIN RESOLUTE THAT I WILL NOT PAY THIS BILL BECAUSE THE CT SCAN WAS WRONGLY DONE.  MY ONLY SOLUTION IS THAT THE HOSPITAL RE-DO PART OF THE CT SCAN WITH 2 TO 3 MORE IMAGES SHOWING THE TMJ JOINT ON THE RIGHT SIDE IN MOTION.  ALSO TO ADD TO THE ORIGINAL REPORT THESE NEW FINDINGS AND A NEW CD DISK, SO I CAN HAVE USABLE IMAGES TO GET THE HELP I NEED.

This Aspirus Langlade Hospital and Aspirus Hospital Systems seems content to totally avoid my complaints, refuses to find a solution and content to leave me in great pain.

They refuse to admit any wrongdoing with their imaging, staff, medical personnel and refuses to take any responsibility here.

AGAIN, THIS IS MY TRUTHFUL STORY AS I HAVE PERSONALLY EXPERIENCED IT.

I wish I had listened to the 2 people, who first told me to Stay Away from Aspirus Hospitals  I would have been the better if I had heeding their warnings.

IF ANYONE OUT THERE HAS ALSO HAD A NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE WITH ASPIRUS AND HAS A SUGGESTION TO RESOLVE IT, PLEASE REPLY AS A CONSUMER COMMENT.

In closing, I want to say that I have looked at other CONSUMER REVIEW WEBSITES AND HAVE FOUND MANY NEGATIVE 'ONE STAR' REVIEWS ON ASPIRUS LANGLADE AND ASPIRUS HOSPITALS.

THIS IS PARTICULARLY TRUE ON THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU WEBSITE, WHERE THERE ARE INDEED MANY, MANY COMPLAINTS ON ASPIRUS HOSPITALS.

Those people filing the complaints, mostly, have NOT received any satisfactory solutions to their complaints and concerns.

IT IS ASHAME THAT WISCONSIN HAS SUCH A HOSPITAL WHICH, IN MY OPINION, FAILS TO DO WHAT THE RIGHT FOR THE PATIENT AND FAILS TO BELIEVE THEIR COMPLAINTS.

ALSO, IN MY CASE, I WAS GIVEN ZERO CREDIBILITY BY THEIR MANAGEMENT - ALL BECAUSE THIS HOSPITAL SYSTEM WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY RESPONSIBLITY FOR MY SITUATION.
