Beginning "before" January 2018 I contacted BlogPress.com and was told that they could and would supply me with services necessary to construct a web-site and blog for a book that was not yet completed.  I paid in $14.95 every month for over 18 months with the faith that when the book was completed, they (she- Jennifer Baritchi) would give me the" hands-on" training to take me step-by-step with this construction.

I was assured that she would devote a phone call to do this after I had provided her with the details of the project, which I entitled "The Friendship Factor" based on the then completed book, "Best Friends" by "Om."  It took me over a year and a half to complete the "book project" and I faithfully paid into her account each and every month via deductions from my bank account with the hope that when I was ready, she would be there to fulfil the promise made by her/ company-"BlogPress.com."

I have repeatedly sought to get this service since May of 2019 with no success.  She replied once with a phone call indicating I needed to send her "content" regarding the project (which I did with no results other than her reply that I was expecting her to "do" all the work of construction and that my description was too broad.  She never replied to any following emails other than to say she would cancel my subscription.

I then asked for a refund of at least the 18 months that I paid in based on her unfulfilled promises and received "no reply."  The dollar amount was $269.10 which did not include deductions to my account preceeding January 2018.  Aside from wasting my money with useless follow-ups, her promises were then and now contrary to her advertisements which still run online for others to be duped.  At this point, I have received nothing that would justify my faith, time and  investment and seek only what is owed me for non-performance of services.

Inaccurate and false information

At BlogPress, we are more than happy to assist our month-to-month (Basic Plan) customers in setting up their website and teaching them how to write and publish new content to their blogs. The following was explained to this customer in detail on several occasions.

  1. We provide step-by-step training in our 90-Day Blogging Success Plan, including free video tutorials for all customers.
  2. Customers can contact our support team at any time (using the Intercom button at the bottom right of the website) with questions and we will happily teach them "how to" do everything related to blogging. They can even schedule a call with one of our blogging experts.
  3. We will help set up any theme in our repository. We do NOT do custom theme design as part of the Basic Plan.
  4. We will add any content provided by the customer to their site for them. In order to do this, we need the specific content and to know where in theme, they would like the content displayed. But all content creation is the responsibility of the customer.
  5. The Basic Plan is a month-to-month service. Accounts can be canceled at any time, but there are no refunds of the monthly fees after the 14-day free trial period. This is clearly spelled out in the BlogPress Terms of Service which everyone must agree to when creating their account. https://theblogpress.com/terms/
  6. We clearly explain what is and is not included in our services: https://theblogpress.com/frequently-asked-question/

The only thing I ever received from this customer was a message containing 2 chapters of a book in plain text format. I repeatedly asked for additional information from the customer and never received anything in addition.

It was explained to the customer numerous times that we do not offer the level of customization that he was asking for - basically a total custom web design with images, content creation, layout, etc. I even offered to do a custom setup for $500 as a side project because I truly wanted to help him.

Surely, anyone can see that expecting a custom website for $14.95 per month is an unrealistic expectation.

The customer's account was canceled immediately upon his request.
