Brookfield Lending Services scam loan company! Better Business Bureau visited the physical address, NO ONE THERE! Ripoff Brentwood Tennessee

To anyone who receives offer from Brookfield Lending Services, DO NOT send them any money! I was having financial woes and couldn't qualify for any personal loans. Out of the blue this company calls and says I'm qualified for $5000 but need to send in a "collateral payment" of $895 due to my poor credit history. Once receiving the money the lender would then deposit $5000 in my checking account within 24 hours. The low interest rate he quoted me set off the first alarm because I know 7% apr is ludicrous for my credit rating. After checking with the Better Business Bureau website, I discovered that they have received numerous reports on this company and visited the physical address. The property managers of that address confirmed that no company under this name has ever leased any property there! I then called Brookfield back and asked to speak to the CEO per the BBB website instructions. Of course, he wasn't in. The rep I spoke to sounded like a teenaged stoner and even called me "dude" at one point. He became irritated when I told him I was reporting him to BBB and said "dude, if you're not interested, why are you going through the trouble to complain about it?" Which is the opposite of what most companies do when you threaten them with BBB. I'm definitely convinced I would have been scammed out of $900 had I sent it. It's really too bad because I could have used the money but if it's too good to be true, it probably is. Dee el paso, Texas
