My wife and I purchased flooring for our entire house before Christmas 2021, the installation was scheduled to be a 2 day installation over a 3 day period giving one day in between to move furniture around the house for such a big project. There were several areas that had been communicated and agreed upon that were trouble areas that would need a leveling agent applied since our house is older and had uneven floors in several specific areas.

We were told the crew would take care of that when they arrived to install the floors throughout our entire house. The day arrived and the crew arrived and when those same trouble areas were pointed out they indicated “not needed” and we voiced our concerns and they again indicated “no problem”, “not needed”. The crew then proceeded to install the first day.

The crew was suppose to do half of the house the first day and that would give us the following day to move furniture around the house so the other half could be done the third day. At the end of the first day the crew stated they would need to come back the second day not giving us the time needed to move half our home furniture back and the other half out of the way for the third day. Instead we were forced to lose an entire night of sleep so the crew could come back the third day to finish the project.

The company did nothing to offer help in moving the furniture the second day since they took 2 days for the initial installation day instead of the 1 day they had indicated it would take. After the installation was finished we began to see the trouble areas we had pointed out had indeed become trouble areas that were not level and would soon destroy our new flooring.

Fast forward to today and the company had had to come out 6 different times trying to fix what should have been taken care of when the initial crew blew us off pointing out the areas that needed leveling agents applied to them. The are having to come back a 7th time to attempt to complete the project and what should have been taken care of in an initial 3 day period and is now out to 54 days and counting since the project began.

In addition, my wife and I have been without the use of the majority of our home since our furniture is still occupying our living areas waiting for Carpet King to resolve the issue. We have in addition to the initial installation period incurred and lost a great deal at our own expense and the company has not offered to reimburse us for it. We have each lost 2 additional vacation days from our employer that we were forced to take needing the crew to come back numerous times and we cannot get that back.

In addition, we have dogs that needed to be kenneled because of the crew occupying our home each day they come (6 days at this time). We have been without cooking facilities each day they have had to come out because they need to disconnect our refrigerator, gas for cooking and kitchen area forcing us to have food delivered each time they come out. In total we have had to incur or lost the equivalent of almost $1600 that we cannot get back.

The company offered us a paltry amount that would not cover even a fraction of that cost not to mention our own personal time of moving our furniture around each time they have to come back. This is the worst company when it comes to making a customer feel they are important.

They took our money for the flooring and we became an after thought when it came to follow up. If you are considering having Carpet King/Flooring Expo install anything I would seriously look into another company that does not use subcontractors and hope you don’t have any issues. You will soon regret your decision to buy anything from them.
