Central Bank and Trust, Orem I needed to take a signer off my checking account today and called the bank to see if I had to close the account. Was told all I needed to do was sign a new signature card with my name only. Went to the branch and they demanded I close out the account. I told them doing so would mess up my direct deposit from Social Security and automatic withdrawals on bills. I called the President of the bank, Mark Packard. He said the Orem branch manager Ed Sanchez could approve an exception to the policy. Mr. Sanchez refused to. So I filed a formal complaint with FDIC. Sanchez closed my accounts immediately. You could have easily changed that automatic deposit and withdrawal information online. If you find that difficult, request assistance from a neighborhood 15-year-old.
The FDIC insures deposits and maintains stability in our financial system. They will laugh at your paltry complaint.
The Whistleblower Protection Act is not relevant because Central Bank did not violate any law, rule or regulation.
Thanks for informing us that Central Bank considers security a high priority. Now, you must change banks, create new login credentials and update that online information.
You shot yourself in the foot. That's embarrassing.
