Clarkson-NYC Fraud and SCAM-Portrayed as NYC based but Chinese, impossible return policy Ningbo Zhejiang

On 7/22/25 I placed a transaction for 12 shirts from a company advertising through Facebook and portraying themselves to be a New York based company.  Their return policy stated that returns were accepted within 30 days of receipt.  After the item shipped I noticed that the items were comping from China…not that uncommon but I began to worry.

The product arrive on 8/6/25 and I left on holiday 8/7/25.  Upon return and then inspection of the items, they were no where near what was expected.  Very cheap, almost disposable clothing!  I attempt to reach out to the company via their email info@clarkson-newyork.com and then the website via that domain, only to find it no longer existed!  I then refound them on Facebook and see that they have changed the email and website to info@clarkson-nyc.com.  I can only assume that they ran a short campaign on Facebook and once they took enough orders, shut the other information down to make it even harder to contact and return the items.

Once I did get a reply from them on 8/17/25 they began to show me how difficult a return would be.  I have at least 30 emails back and forth with them.  Issues:

1)   Return must be shipped back to China at my expense, including customs

2)   Return cost per package is anticipated to be $65.

3)   Their new return policy states you can only ship 3 items per package back…which means I am expected to spend $260 in return shipping costs for 12 very light and small shirts that should be able to be shipped easily in 1 package.

4)   Further concern on the return policy with so many reason that can reject it, so many ways it can get lost in shipping in china, and even it if makes it they are still in China and could just keep my money and the product!!

5)   They pressed me hard over and over again to simply exchange them or take a 10% refund.

I expressed massive concern with a company that portrays themselves to be a US based company yet is a Chinese entity.   Stated clearly to them that their site is incredible deceiving and unethical and to be selling in the US they need a US based return center…but of course their game is to make it so difficult and costly that consumers will just give up.  I have since also learned that they are a knowing scamming site:
