I hired Clean Air Asbestos and Mold Control, LLC (CAAMC) for asbestos removal in my attic, paying nearly $20,000 for what was promised to be a professional and safe abatement process. Unfortunately, my experience was a disaster. The work was incomplete, unsafe, and not in compliance with EPA, OSHA, and IDPH regulations, which were explicitly outlined in their contract.

CAAMC left significant amounts of asbestos-containing vermiculite in my attic, used improper equipment for asbestos removal, and failed to set up adequate containment barriers, leading to potential airborne exposure risks. Even more concerning, they falsely assured me that the attic was safe to reenter. Based on their claims, I and other workers entered the attic without protective equipment, unknowingly exposing ourselves to asbestos.

When I questioned their work, they claimed to have conducted air quality tests that confirmed the attic’s safety. However, it became clear that these tests were never performed on time or accurately, and I was given several different stories as to why they were never done.

CAAMC’s negligence and dishonesty endangered my family, contractors, and neighbors, highlighting their disregard for public safety and regulatory standards. I have since filed a lawsuit against them for fraud, negligence, and breach of contract.

If you are considering hiring Clean Air Asbestos and Mold Control, LLC, I strongly urge you to look elsewhere. Their unsafe practices and deceptive behavior pose serious risks to your health and safety.
