Ripoff Report Review – USA Home Logistics / Coastal Beginning LLC / Pack Men USA

I am filing this Ripoff Report to warn others about the company trading under the names Coastal Beginning LLC, USA Home Logistics, and Pack Men USA (MC 992460 / DOT 2936759). My interstate move from Connecticut to South Carolina with this broker was one of the most stressful and damaging experiences I have ever dealt with.

Summary of My Experience

I hired this company in May 2025 to broker the relocation of my household goods. From start to finish, the process was riddled with broken promises, excessive charges, and tactics that I believe were unethical and potentially unlawful.

1. Held My Possessions Hostage
   After only a partial delivery of my goods, the company refused to release the remainder unless I sent an email agreeing to cancel an active credit card dispute based on the overcharge by them. This demand was made while they still had control of my family’s possessions, leaving me no choice but to comply under duress.

2. Damaged and Missing Items
   When the rest of my belongings were eventually delivered, several items were missing and many others were damaged. Examples include: a compressor with a broken gauge, a wooden bookcase scratched and dented, metal racking bent beyond use, and numerous smaller household items. Some of these items were irreplaceable.

3. Significant Overbilling
   The company initially charged me for 1,647 cubic feet of space, totaling $5,533.92 (including surcharges). Upon delivery, it was clear that only about 1,300 cubic feet had actually been used. I was overbilled by $1,165.92, which the company has refused to reconcile despite my repeated attempts to address the discrepancy.

4. False Threats and Intimidation
   After disputing the charge, I received intimidating emails from the broker accusing me of “insurance fraud” and threatening legal action simply for exercising my right to challenge charges for services not fully rendered. These accusations were completely unfounded and seemed designed to bully me into dropping the dispute.

5. Zero Accountability
   Whenever I raised these issues, the broker deflected blame to the carrier they had arranged (National Relo). However, the broker:

   • Collected payment directly

   • Controlled all communication with the carrier

   • Required me to cancel the dispute before delivery
     This blurred line of responsibility left me with no clear way to resolve the matter.

Why I’m Posting This

I am still out the overbilled amount and have received no compensation for missing or damaged items. This company’s actions—holding my property hostage, overbilling, making false threats, and refusing to take accountability—show a pattern of behavior that I believe other consumers deserve to be warned about.

I have filed formal complaints with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), the Better Business Bureau (BBB), and both the Connecticut and South Carolina Attorney General’s offices.

My Advice to Others

• Avoid this company at all costs.

• If you see the names USA Home Logistics, Coastal Beginning LLC, or Pack Men USA (MC 992460 / DOT 2936759) associated with a moving service, walk away immediately.

• Document everything if you are already dealing with them, and do not allow them to pressure you into cancelling disputes or paying more money just to get your possessions back.

This experience has cost me financially and emotionally, and I hope sharing my story prevents others from going through the same nightmare.
