Coffey Bros Moving Price Gouging, Uncompensated Damages, Pervasive Unprofessionalism Westchester IL

The initial estimate provided by the company was $3,398.00. However, I was charged $5,567.89, a significant overcharge given the accuracy of the inventory I provided. The company claimed the exorbitant fees were primarily from the time spent loading and unloading items into their storage site - despite promising to provide documentation for this, I have not received any proof to justify the significant time estimates.Further, on the day of my outbound move, the movers arrived six hours late, leaving my family (at a time when my wife was eight months pregnant) in an empty house, waiting without furniture. During that time, nobody from the company proactively communicated with me. I attempted to contact the company numerous times, but no one could locate the trucks or give me any updates. When the movers finally arrived, they handled my belongings carelessly, causing damage to both my personal items and the walls and floors of my home.I immediately submitted a claim to Coffey Bros. for these damages. They guaranteed me that the issue would be resolved within 120 days, but I have yet to receive any response from them, despite multiple follow-up attempts. I am extremely dissatisfied with the lack of professionalism, the unexpected charges, and the company's failure to address or rectify the damages and the distress they caused during the move.I request that this matter be resolved, including reimbursement for the excess charges and compensation for the damages to my property.
