I had the worst experience with Credit Union Leasing of America (CULA). If you’re considering leasing with them, I strongly advise you to think twice. My case involved a stolen Honda vehicle on October 3rd, 2024, and I’ve been dealing with their claims processor, Mario Cobian, ever since. His false promises and lack of follow-through have caused me endless frustration and financial stress.

Here’s what happened:

  1. False Promises: Mario assured me from the very beginning that all issues related to the stolen car would be resolved quickly and that I wouldn’t owe any additional money. He was adamant that I would not have to worry about anything. This turned out to be a blatant lie.

  2. Unresolved Financial Issues: My insurance company settled the payment with CULA, so I expected to receive a paid-in-full letter from the leasing bank, Bethpage. However, Bethpage informed me that I still owe money for gap insurance. This was never communicated to me by Mario or anyone else at CULA, even though I asked multiple times for clarification.

  3. Broken Promises of Follow-Up: On December 13th, 2024, Mario told me he would contact Bethpage on my behalf to clear up the issue, as he believed there was a misunderstanding. He assured me he would follow up with me within a few days. It’s now over a month later, and I haven’t heard a single word from him despite sending a reminder email on January 21st, 2025.

  4. Financial Losses: I’ve already lost nearly $5,000 from leasing this car, and now I’m being told I owe even more for something I wasn’t informed about. This has been a major financial burden, made worse by the incompetence and lack of transparency from CULA.

  5. Lack of Accountability: It feels like once CULA received the settlement payment from my insurance company, they completely washed their hands of my case. They seem uninterested in resolving the issue or communicating with me further.

This company’s lack of professionalism, false promises, and disregard for their customers are unacceptable. I’ve also filed a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) to hold them accountable for their actions.

To anyone considering leasing through Credit Union Leasing of America, I urge you to avoid them. Their poor customer service and inability to resolve issues will only cause you stress and financial loss.
