I had applied for a HUD voucher in October 2016. When I had applied for a HUD Voucher, I had specifically stated the county that I currently live in and the county that I want my HUD Voucher for. I had chose Oktibbeha County for my HUD Voucher. I live in another county that is over a hour away, but I had wanted one for Oktibbeha County because that is where I had wanted to move to.

I had remained faithfully waiting to go to my appointment and receive my HUD voucher for many years. Over the years I was even calling asking about the status of my HUD voucher. I had given them my name, the county that I currently live, and the county that I am applying for every time. In December 2019 I had received a letter from them in the mail telling me my appointment at HUD for my HUD Vouher will be in January 2020 (I think January 07 or 08, 2020).

I had faithfully went to it. As a matter of fact, I had made it to my appointment very early. It was in Eupora, MS. The lady had told me that it was not meant for me to miss my appointment and that she is about to go ahead to see me. She had asked me about the city and county that I currently live and what county that I want it for.

Once again I had told her my current city and currenty county that I live in, but I want it for Oktibbeha County. One year after that in January 2021 I had received my HUD Voucher. However, it was for the county that I currently live not for Oktibbeha County. When I had told my mother about this, my mother had stated that she thinks that you can only get a HUD Voucher for the currenty county that you live.

As I had told my mother, then they could have been told me that years ago. If they had told me that when I had 1st applied to them, was calling asking my status of it over the years, and when I had went to my appointment; then my hopes would not have been up. I would have pursued other options to move to Oktibbeha County instead.

I feel that they had done me very wrong. They had me waiting for years like a fool. There should be rules of them having to be upfront with people from the beginning about the rules for a HUD Voucher & where you can receive one for. I believe that they had waited to tell me this information because they knew that I would have said that I do not want a HUD voucher if they had told me that.

The more HUD vouchers that they give out the more money that they make.
