Dr. Charles Minoru Okamura is deceitful and dangerous. My aunt was under his care at NYU Langone Hospital Brooklyn. Under his supervision, her oxygen concentrations levels dropped to the low 80s. She is 73 years old with pre existing health conditions and aquired Covid. He tried to dishcarge her from the hospital with an O2 saturation of 80. This is unheard of in the medical profession. When we tried to stop him, he said his oxygen monitor was faulty but never verified it with a functioning monitor.
We bought one ourselves and saw that it was indeed the correct low reading that his read. He refused to acknowledge that. We asked if he could write a prescription for an oxygen machine so she could breath at night when she slept as she was already having a hard time breathing. He aggressively refused. He kicked my aunt out of the hospital because he knew we were onto him. Beware of his evil. He should not be practicing medicine.
His NPI number is 1427254192

What insurance does your aunt have? And how were you allowed into the hospital when no one is allowed into any facility during this pandemic? Drs do not write prescriptions for O2 - that goes through the discharge planner who goes through a DME company to place an order for O2. I know because this is what I do everyday and I work with COVID patients so what is the reason you blame the Dr??? Did your family not speak with the SW or Case Manager about this? I find this hard to believe.
