I was misled by EasyPay Finance / Duvera Billing Services LLC into what was presented as a "lease agreement” but was in fact a disguised high-interest loan of money — not for any tangible good or product. The company confirmed on a recorded phone call that nothing physical was leased to me, and instead, they were leasing money. This is predatory and deceptive. I made 32 biweekly payments totaling $5,362.24. When I confronted them with inconsistencies between their emails, CFPB responses, and phone calls, they admitted my account had been closed and no refund would be issued — even though another supervisor earlier stated it was still active. Their answers constantly change. I live in a one-party consent state and have recorded all calls. Representatives contradicted themselves several times — admitting they couldn’t provide a valid return process because there was no actual item leased, and acknowledging the lease involved "funds.” The business refuses to provide a legal mailing address, only offering a billing P.O. Box. Google and other sources show different addresses, and even their own staff denied affiliation with listed locations when questioned. This behavior appears to violate multiple consumer protection laws, including the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act (DTPA) and FTC rules on disguised credit. The company also altered the name of their transaction processor mid-agreement without notice — switching from Private Payment Services Vista CA to Private PMT SVC INC - Lease PMT after over 150 days. I’ve submitted complaints to the CFPB, Texas and California Attorneys General, BBB, and FTC, and I’m preparing to file a formal small claims suit for a full refund and statutory damages. Consumers should be warned — this company hides behind misleading terminology, denies clear explanations, and uses tactics that suggest unfair, deceptive, and abusive acts and practices (UDAAP).
