Total scam!!!
I received a solicitation from Alex Wood of Elite Wiki Writers offering to add a page for my profile to Wikipedia for $399. After speaking with Alex by phone and letting him know that I was interested in the service as a marketing tool for my law practice, I paid for the service on 5/25.
The transaction went through as $394 + $2.50 + $2.50 (weird but OK). I then received a questionnaire to complete. As I was about to complete the various questions on my notability, I read something that was a little alarming and decided to check Wikipedia's terms and conditions.
Based on my review of the terms for wikipedia, I felt as though I did not meet the criteria for 'notability'. Also, there is a section that explicitely states that wikipedia is not to be used for 'marketing' purposes.

Feeling misled, I asked for a refund before any work had been done. When asked why, I explained my concern and provided a link to the wikipedia terms and conditions. I received a response from Alex refusing to issue a refund and stating "nobody will get suspicious". I responded back demanding a full refund on 6/30.
On 7/05, I was messaged by someone named Michael Johnson, Senior Project Manager who asked if I was available for a call. That same day, I wrote back providing my mobile phone # but never received a call. Instead, I received several excuses from Michael that he was sick and was not able to call. It has been almost 2 full months now and I have still not received a refund or a phone call to resolve the issue.
Today (8/30), I decided to give them one last chance to give me a refund. I called the # on their website and spoke to someone who put me on hold and then the line disconnected. The service agreement that was sent to me lists a compliance manager named Jason Hawks at 1-866 292-9696 ext. 107, however, the phone number is no longer in operation.
This is a pretty cut and dry situation. Company solicits a service to customer. Customer communications their intentions to company and company affirms they can deliver. Client pays $399 for said service. Customer learns they do not qualify for the service. Customer requests refund before any work has been done by Company.
Legitimate companies would issue a full refund once an explanation was provided, period. No questions asked. I feel misled and bamboozled by Elite Wiki Writers and after numerous attempts to resolve this issue by phone and email, I give up. Total rip-off. BEWARE.
