Epic Restoration charged nearly $2,000 to demolish or "mitigate" our bathroom, refusing to provide documentation when requested Provo UT

In March 2025, we hired Epic Restoration after a plumbing issue damaged part of our half bathroom. Their website claimed they offered full-service restoration, including reconstruction. Based on that, we signed their vague work authorization form.

They proceeded to demolish the bathroom (just a 9 square foot space), left dehumidifier equipment running for 5 days, and then told us afterward that they don’t actually do reconstruction.

We repeatedly asked for documentation showing the work was necessary: moisture readings, photos, logs—anything. They refused. When we challenged the $2,069.71 invoice, they increased the charges to $2,245.43 and gave us a deadline to pay the first invoice by the end of day or else they'd void it and we'd have to pay the higher amount.

They never rebuilt the bathroom. We had to hire a separate company to do it.

We took Epic to small claims court hoping for accountability. We lost. But we still believe what they did was wrong. Their own final email contradicts their website’s claim of full-service restoration. And when we posted our experience in online reviews, they emailed us threatening to “go to court for defamation.”

This company caused us significant stress, hardship, and financial loss. We would not recommend them to anyone.
