When searching for a hotel near Gainesville, FL, the site showed a list. I toggled to the map view and selected a hotel showing near I-75 and state road 24. Four hotels where shown. I clicked on the map maker and booked the hotel, around 10PM. The next morning I saw the email showing the hotel that was booked was more than 2 hours away in a different state.
Called the hotel to cancel and they said only hotels.com would honor it. Called hotels.com and they claimed the could not get through to the hotel and refused to refund for their software mistake. FWIW, there were three of use gathered around the computer making these plans. This was not human error. Be well aware, this is finger pointing with zero customer interest at its finest.

WHY ON EARTH ARE YOU USING SOME THIRD PARTY, TRASHY RESERVATION SITE FOR SOMETHING.....YOU .... CAN AND SHOULD DO YOURSELF???? All of these third parties are TRASH, every one of them. JUST LIKE ALWAYS, when you want a hotel, YOU BOOK IT YOURSELF! You never, ever use these third parties. They are just hoping something goes wrong so they can KEEP YOUR MONEY the hotel refunded to THEM. These third party slime balls have even been known to make DELIBERATE "mistakes" as an excuse to keep your money. They are so trashy and deceptive they will even set up websites to look like it is the actual hotel and even answer the phone with the hotel name so as to DEFRAUD and DECEIVE people like you. Again, NOTHING has changed in the reservation business. YOU CALL THE HOTEL DIRECTLY after you made absolutely sure you are dealing with the actual hotel rather than any of the trashy, pond scum in the third party con-game and EVERY ONE OF THEM operate by the same FRAUD and DECEPTION con-game=ABSOLUTE FACT!))))
