Fire Island Animal Rescue They have not filed IRS accounting for more than 3 years. Donations unaccounted for.

Just came across this TRASH, posted by Shoshanna Cohen McCollum, her sister that has never been to FI, Miriam Cohen, CA, and a viscous, self centered, Ilene Barkin Patrick, whom left the area, in shame last yr, after her attacks on other women.

This is so sad, that such jealous women would stoop to the lowest trashy levels, whom were supposed to be the family/friend of a man with such a gentle and amazing heart, the late John McCollum. We had bought a vaca home in Ocean Beach, many years ago, and noticed sick and multiplying cats throughout FI.. exactly what we needed a break from.

My husband, a renowned LI and FI veterinarian, along with myself, a pharmacist were concerned, and were lead to "CATMAN JOHN”, —a gentle soul, whom had such compassion and care, but was unable to keep up with the spay and neutering of these cats.

Since we as a couple, had teamed up to TNR hundreds and hundreds of cats in Islip, as a "give back” , then in OB on our own time and at our expense, relentlessly, did it because "WE COULD”.. So, reached out to John, and stepped up to the plate.

I trapped and my husband did surgeries as a mass clinic in the OB boathouse, over 2 consecutive 36hr periods, (even in a hurricane) —we caught over 250+ cats in 2008-09, weeks before my 1st spinal surgery. With Not 1 cent of donations, we gave our time, financed all surgeries, vaccines, meds, additional ER surgeries, donated meds, all free vet care, and yrs of GIVING, and GIVING, yet asking nothing in return.

In 2011, my husband, (unbeknownst to me), he went even further, by giving a very kind and generous "surprise”, to further help this kind man—he paid $15G to open a non for profit, the RESCUE named above, to be run by myself and Johnny.

As for JJ, whom said his wife "insisted on being involved or he was not allowed to..” This was NOT what I was planning on doing, had no desire to deal with her or her abrasive personality, her disinterest in the hands on work, or her lack of interest in animals, but tried my best to "tolerate” the situation.

I enjoyed doing what I did for the animals, and was not thrilled to have to deal with such a nasty individual, whom became obsessed with my level of life, as we were accomplished professionals—Now we were neighbors. I tried my best. The issue that created this "lashing out”, by this jealous woman, (whom was not even an animal lover, did not help at all.).

Was the fact that I insisted that I watch over any and all donations taken in, and insisted that 100% was used for the care and feeding of these poor creatures. She did not like that I did the accounting, there of. We did not ask, nor did we take 1 cent for all of the free care, food donations, trapping equip, surgeries (including a free $3000 surgery for a kitten who was starving, that ate the styrofoam from discarded old meat in garbage that blocked her stomach), meds, care, etc. ZERO.

Mrs McCollum was submitting gas bills, utility bills, cellphone invoices and personal bills to be paid by the NFP,— of which I refused, since donations covered about 6 months of food. She began taking private donations, not put thru the rescue, ran fundraisers where she used money for personal gain, and was never about "the animals”.

Because I refused to run the rescue with such illegal and selfish actions, she and Mrs Patrick attempted to remove me from my own board of directors, while I was recovering from yet a 2nd spinal fusion, of another 4 discs—due to wear and tear from the trapping that I did alone, for hundreds and hundreds of abandoned creatures.

A 12hr surgery, relearning how to walk, bedridden for months… I began getting CYBERATTACKED by these 'crazies’, was locked out of my own FB rescue pg, website stolen, and from my bed, I fought to regain all intellectual property that was stolen.

I felt helpless, and angry.. instead of greatfulness, and appreciation, I was being harassed, attacked online, constantly and even by her sister in CA., a crazed, unstable nutcase; Miriam Cohen, whom I had never met, she had never been in OB, and began accusing me of being a "Pill popper”, after just having another spinal surgery—PROBLEM: she wasn’t aware that I am a NYS PHARMACIST, with a license to dispense such meds.

In 2012, I had just had my spine cut open with a power saw, 2 titanium rods and 12 -2” screws hammered into my spinal column. I was in the hospital for 12 days, and this was the THANKS I got.. TORTURE FROM JEALOUS WOMEN, WHOM SHOULD HAVE BEEN HELPING THIS KIND MAN, AS HE BEGAN A LONG JOURNEY WITH PROSTATIC CANCER.

ALL ABOUT THE $$, zero compassion. John McCollum, sadly passed away this past spring after a persistent courageous fight, and never failed to skip a day, of caring feeding of the cats, the deer, and all of the creatures on FI. He was "one of a kind”, and there will never be another like him.

The idea, that these women would post this absurd BS, 9 yrs after their attempted take over, —and their starting over a new rescue, (just to profit themselves), not even attempting to TNR, feed or do anything for JOHN, while he became Ill, and their complete lack of compassion for the animals, and pocketing donations for self use, says it all, —lack of character and complete TRASH.

False accusations of "alleged drug abuse”, against a pharmacist is 1000% slander and libel, as they reprint Facebook BS…they will be reported and my threats years ago, of reporting and prosecution, along with cyberstalking, will now be a Promise. SHAME ON YOU! for doing this crap, while John was suffering, and struggling .. at the time this was posted from years ago.

That good man deserved so much better. Today 9/1/22- after 18 yrs., just as we predicted back then: OCEAN BEACH is booming, huge homes are being built in the millions, and these animals are now "pests” for the wealthy investors and new generation homeowner’s.

I want to thank the new members of FI Animal Rescue, for trying to clean up the repopulation that was left neglected while we could not do so these past few yrs., while I’ve been recovering from other serious surgeries.

As for John’s widow, who takes donations for herself from locals, dissolved FI animal welfare society, and has opened her door, releasing at least 15 of Johns unspayed/unneutered cats out of the house, to reproduce as they starve outside.. right behind our home. It’s sad to see kittens, cats, deer, sick and old cats— just sitting and waiting at dusk , for the man who loved them so.

A great mess was left, and work that is difficult to do in this new gentrification of our area. There is no CATMAN to feed them in the winter, when we seasonal residents leave. It’s so sad, and it should have been up to these women to keep up.. if they actually cared for this kind heart. Rest In Peace, dear John. Again, To post this crap, against people that have to now clean up the Mess, is just disgusting!

We are embarrassed for you. After 35 yrs of rescue, it seems that women like these, whom are jealous, insecure and unaccomplished in life .. use RESCUE as a vehicle to attack those whom they can’t compete with. SELF SERVING NARCISSISTIC BEHAVIOR, from behind a screen.

You weren’t worth my time all those years ago, BUT legal action will NOW be taken, since John is now gone. SAD. Jealousy is ugly, and your actions are criminal. I have all the proof in a neat folder. I suggest you get a life. How could you even think to do this, as this man was suffering?

 I just came across this "Ripoff Report”, that was fabricated by my sister, Kimberly Serino("Cyberstalker”) and the sister, of Ocean Beach’s, FI Animal Welfare Society’s Shoshanna McCollum, Miriam Cohen of CA, ( whom I never have met!), back in 4/18.

It was NOT written by Robyn Berk, (another of many victims of Kim’Serino’s Cyberstalking, harassing and targeting for Fake Legal cases conducted by KS who impersonates a Paralegal and is NOT! (See: NALA.com). A).

A tax return has been filed yearly since FIAR, LTD. was approved as a 501-c3. Every cent of donations were given to John and Shoshanna Mc Collum to feed the hundreds of cats that, myself and my husband, Dr Kenneth Luckow, DVM, trapped, neutered, spayed and vaccinated Ourselves in Ocean Beach. NYS law ONLY lists tax return revenue in excess of $15,000.

A true CParalegal would have known this. ALL EXPENSES, FOOD, MEDS, TRAPPING MATERIALS, VACCINATIONS, SURGERY, VET CARE,etc., are at OUR OWN EXPENSE. We Foster, home those cats who were dumped, or domesticate cats/kittens that are able to become pets. FREE ADOPTIONS are made to ONLY existing Clients of our Ft SALONGA Animal Hospital, Dr K’s main practice, (he is also the sole FI VET all season, taking ER calls 24/7 for the sake of Our other community).

We do this rescue work to "give back” to those who cannot speak for themselves. B. Not only did we create this NFP for benefit of the McCollum’s need for food expenses(they TNR’d 3-4 cats/yr)for a rapidly growing population, but WE did the hands on work to catch up to TNR:Colony feeding rules. My own psychotic sister then helped Shoshanna McCollum steal the rescue’s FB Page, website, etc. These viscous, miserable women began slandering and posting FALSE info on all biz FB pages, personal stalking, harassment, etc. False claims, as such listed by them regarding Drug Abuse, IS NOT BEING TOLERATED, and will be subject to legal consequences, especially since I have been a NYS Pharmacist for over 30yrs.

My husband Dr. Luckow, who gave them all free pet/rescue/surgery services, filed FIAR, LTD., has also been stalked, harassed, and smeared by these crazed women. WHY?! attention, jealousy, rivalry?! Sad. C). We did so much for such low and thankless people, whom I broke away from, because they were starting to take $ from the NFP for personal utility bills, gas tank fills, etc.

We were not at the level where donations could "pay off bills” for the financially impaired McCollums, whom we went out of our way for the sake of Them and the overflowing population of feral cats. We bought our home in OB, in 2005, and began addressing the rescue desperately needed in a resort area, where Catman’s primary functions was throwing down food.

He was overwhelmed, we stepped up to the plate and TNR’d over 250+ cats, in a total of 2 '36hr stints’ where I TRAPPED and Dr K did surgeries. FI is accessible ONLY by ferry, so we shipped all the equipment over. Every cat was spayed, neutered, vaccinated for Rabies, distemper...recouped and surgeries needed for the sick, hurt were provided at NO COST.

So, yes..it hurt personally! We gave it ALL. This here, is the Thank you from my sociopath or a sister,and the wife of the FI cat "feeder”, whom both seem to have insecurity/jealous issues. We helped John, who could not speak for himself, and the ones in need: the CATS. D). After reclaiming FIAR, LTD FB Page, website, etc., I had them closed down due to the harassment and stalking. My sister thinks she is the GOD of rescues, because she had Angel’s Gate, Ft SALONGA NY, closed down after she went after Sue Marino with viscous attacks and legal intervention.

She got NYS to close AG, never seeking out help for SM to run that expanding animal rescue, where my sister worked off the books, (while on WC and SSD!). See, Narcissist’s act impulsively, and thorough(!), but My Sister, Kimberly A Serino, never accounted for "where and what would happen to the animals” after AG closed... The paralyzed basset hound dog, "Scrappy” on wheels, Kim’s fav, died from neglect.

In my opinion, my sister had a mental breakdown after this. She has never been the same. Her NPD, Sociopath, and psychotic stalking,and manipulation of random victims who speak against her, has been her one and only mission for the past 10 yrs I cut her out of my life. She stalks, harasses, created fake lawsuits when she "turns the tables”, making herself the Victim...WHY?! For $$!

All while collecting off the govt for some fake care, using MY own injuries/surgeries as her excuse! Sick, and nuts...so are those who join in to do her dirty work! E). As for the newly formed NFP, by Shoshanna McCollum and Ilene Barkin Patrick: "FI Animal Welfare Society”, a 501-c3/NFP, they went back to their old ways, throwing down food, letting the cats multiply exponentially, but now taking Tax free donations( prob paying their bill, too..(I still have the records.) They have also known for yrs., that the FINS a division of the Fed Park Services, wanted to have an open Hunt for our very domesticated White Tailed Deer.

Years before we got to OB, this has been a stewing pot waiting to boil over.. Residents and advocates fought this for years! When I tried to work "with John,( and his insistent wife by default), I had contacted a professor from Tufts Vet school, to continue the Deer Contraceptive study program. All that FIAWS had to do, was get FINS to agree.

Well, the 1st sharpshooter Hunt was conducted a few weeks ago, and NO, the meat was not given to the poor. FIAWS boss, Shoshanna McCollum, who also writes for the FI NEWS, got first hand tips this was going down, yet DID NOT say a word at ALL(?!), and did NOTHING all these years, (and then) to STOP the Hunt of the deer on a 2 mile wide, sand bar, that is compactly inhabitated?!

Dropped the Ball, big time...and used her time only to take pics, scrapbook on FB and social media, and does ZERO for the Animals, but seems to love the attention! F).
