I signed up with Flex Storage on April 30, 2024, after being quoted around $40/month and reassured over the phone that I’d receive a GPS-tracked unit with a free high-security lock. Their ads made it sound secure, private, and tech-enabled. I thought I was getting a good deal. I couldn’t have been more wrong.

From the very first invoice, I was charged several times more than what I agreed to. Then it kept going up—month after month—until I was paying 5x to 6x the original quote. I emailed Flex Storage repeatedly to ask why I was being overcharged and to request a copy of the contract I supposedly agreed to. I never got a single response. Not once.

Security? Also a total scam. The day they dropped off the trailer, the driver told me they were “out of locks” but would come back later. He never did. I waited 4 hours because he was also late picking it up. For two straight months, I emailed and called Flex Storage asking if my unit had ever been locked and where it was even stored. No response. They even referred to my account as “unit XXXX” in emails—like they didn’t even know what my actual unit number was. I never received any GPS access, any tracking alerts, or any proof that my belongings were secured. Just silence.

Eventually, I blocked my card to stop the escalating charges. That triggered generic-looking emails from a so-called “collections department” with no verified contact info. Fearing they'd somehow retaliate and mess with my stuff, I resumed paying the inflated bills. On Feb 28, 2025, I blocked the card again.

Then in May 2025, after flying to Miami to recover my items, I was told by phone and email that my entire unit had been “trashed.” First they said it was on March 3, then March 19—in the same call. I have the entire conversation transcribed. No lien notice. No auction. No heads-up. Nothing.

To this day, I have no idea where my unit was ever stored, no GPS history, and no lock confirmation. They ghosted me for 10 months, overcharged me every month, and then threw away my belongings without warning.

My unit contained over $56,000 worth of designer items, studio gear, electronics, and art. I have filed a police report and opened civil claims. Based on my experience, Flex Storage runs a bait-and-switch billing scam with zero accountability and no real security protocols.

Stay far away from this company. If you value your property or your peace of mind—do not trust Flex Storage.
