Termites, well they can be a serious problem but contracting George’s Pest control to treat them is a whole other dilemma in itself.  After our experience I strongly recommend you steer far away from this company.  DO NOT let George con you out of your hard-earned money.  If he does, at least you’ll most likely still have termites to help you forget about your experience. 

On Nov 20, 2019 I had the misfortune of meeting George, the owner of George’s Pest Control.

This meeting was for the initial consultation to have the property treated for termites.  George was very detailed in his approach and boasted about his past 30 years experience in treating them.  He explained in detail the corrective measures his company would take in treating the termite problem. 

I asked several questions regarding the treatment that were based on the research I did prior to our meeting.  This seemed to agitate George which should have been a sign to politely part ways.  He continued to strongly emphasized his 30 years experience and how amazing his product was over his competitors. 

Even though George was a bit of a car salesman in his approach I liked his enthusiasm and the fact he was cheaper than the previous company that quoted on the property.

On December 4, 2019 at 8AM one of George’s employees arrived and met with my wife to treat the property.  He was there less then 2 hours.  Once he left, my wife called me and told me how everything had gone. 

 Upon coming home that evening I inspected the property given that there were serious inconsistencies on what George had implied and what my wife monitored on our video surveillance.  I could find no evidence of any trenching, the main garage was not touched at all, and the secondary garage had evidence of several holes drilled in the slab where I assumed the product was applied.  The number of holes drilled in the slab was no where near what George had originally stated. 

I waited for the bill to show up and immediately called George and explained my displeasure regarding the service his company had provided.  There again George was rather agitated on the phone but was quick to come out and inspect the job. 

I met with George on Wednesday December 11, 2019 at 11AM to discuss the deficiencies in what was supposed to be completed as per our original conversation.  After George inspected his employee’s workmanship George was clearly upset and very displeased with the quality of work that was done.

George clearly stated, not once but 4 times, he would have him come back and redo the complete job.  As for the lack of drilled holes in the main garage, to his dismay they had been missed entirely.  When I showed him there was no evidence of any trenching, he blew it off and said, “I have been doing this for 30 years and offer a two-year warranty.”  I explained to him the idea of doing it right in the first place was so I don’t need to use the warranty.  Besides, when it comes down to it what company would warranty something that was never done properly in the first place.

On Friday Dec 13, 2019 at roughly 11:30am I was contacted and advised George’s employee would be coming by to fix the deficiencies. 

As I was unable to be there and had lost confidence in George and his company, I had one of my employees, who is also a general contractor, at the house to monitor the reapplication process.  Prior to them showing up I relayed George’s conversation to my employee so there was a clear understanding of what was to be done. 

Once George’s Pest Control had left, my employee contacted me and gave me a complete synopsis of what had taken place.  I immediately called and asked to speak to George explaining my displeasure, I was rudely cut off and was told he was on his way right now with his employee.

I called my employee and had him wait until George arrived.  Upon arriving at my residence within minutes George started yelling profanities and screaming at my employee.  Stating he was tired of “people like us” I don’t even know what that means, did he not like the color of our skin or was it that we actually expected his company to follow through with the original service they promised to provide?

George absolutely refused to address the deficiencies in his company’s workmanship and abruptly left.

Given the circumstances, Georges lack of professionalism, his hostile nature, his inability to complete the service he originally promised to provide, and the fact we have absolutely no confidence in his ability to follow though and  do a creditable job, we have decided to sever ties with him and his company.

In closing, sometimes the cheapest isn’t always the best, in this case the work wasn’t even completed properly.  This implies that we still have a termite problem, it also clearly states that the warranty Georges Pest Control offers would be as good as his attitude and his company’s work ethic.
