I trusted Glenn Parada to help us through one of the biggest financial decisions of our life a few years back when I was still married then and we bought our home in Florida. This agency (owned by Glenn) handled the mortgage for me and my ex husband but I feel that my lack of knowledge was taken advantage of. They looked us in the eye and told us he was giving us a great rate, knowing we didn’t fully understand the numbers. Only recently was it brought to my attention from the bank l I plan to refinance with that they had grossly inflated my mortgage interest rate versus available market rates available at that time and based on my credit  (which was well above average both then and now), costing us tens of thousands more than I should be paying. I feel deeply hurt that someone I believed was helping me would do that.  Now I find out this guy is an Evangelist! I am so disgusted I had to share my story. I guess I want to believe that his new career path is an attempt to make good on past acts.

You Have Proven My Point Absolutely PERFECTLY!

AUTHOR: Irv - (United States)

POSTED: Sunday, April 27, 2025

You say this was your first home purchase, right? No doubt, you signed papers placing YOU on the hook for at least six figures, How many times in your life have you spent six figures? At closing, you signed many papers. Did YOU read every one to see if everything was in YOUR BEST INTEREST? Did you understand every one of those papers, all of which were drawn up by an attorney to protect someone else's interests...an attorney who was working for and loyalty was to them? Are you absolutely POSITIVE the neighbor's property is NOT infringing upon your lot lines? Did you have a surveyor perform a land survey, certifiable TO YOU to verify there were no problems? At a minimum, a six figure purchase is $100,000. An attorney who YOU HIRED to look over and review the purchase would have cost a few hundred dollars....a few hundred to protect at least $100,000! Buying or selling real estate is not AMATEUR NIGHT. If you would have had an attorney working for you, that attorney would have reviewed that mortgage rate and told you to NOT DO IT! Let's talk mortgages for a minute. When you buy clothes, do you shop around? Money is nothing more than a commodity. To get the BEST price, YOU SHOP AROUND...you don't automatically go to your bank because that's where your money is or automatically use what the real estate agent recommends because that real estate agent gets PAID for that mortgage! You shop around for money. Finally, lets look at that real estate agent. How does that agent get paid and when do they get paid? They get paid a commission when the house is sold. Therefore, it is in THEIR best interest to sell the house and NOT YOURS! I do need to COMMEND you for seeing the mistake you made and hopefully you will learn from this and the recommendations made here. I do not practice in the area of real estate so there is nothing for me to gain when someone has their own attorney experienced in that practice area represent them during a transaction without regard to if this is their first purchase or have purchased 50 properties. Secondly, I need to COMMEND you on your writing. You would not believe how many people cannot or will not write like a person who has at least graduated from the ninth grade. There are people in this world who very deliberately talk and write like a dummy because that's how their friends and circle do it. You are not in that group. You on the other hand, write very well and that's the way it should be.
