RE: Report of Insurance Fraud by GreenLight Maximum Recovery

To Whom It May Concern:

Ridge Down Construction, LLC is a licensed roofing contractor.  GreenLight Maximum Recovery is a debt collection agency.  Both Ridge Down and GreenLight are located in the State of Florida.

ISSUE #1

On December 4, 2018, Ridge Down contracted with GreenLight to pursue payment of debts owed by customers that Ridge Down had replaced roofs for.  As part of the contracted debt collection service, GreenLight agreed to withhold a percentage of the principal debt amounts and to forward the remaining payments collected onto Ridge Down.  Additionally, GreenLight agreed to employ the services of Lowercase Law to manage the filing and enforcement of Liens resulting from non-payment of the debts owed by Ridge Down’s customers.

To date, Ridge Down has submitted $54,960.62 in unpaid customer debts to GreenLight.  Of that amount, GreenLight has only forwarded $12,070.23 in debt payments onto Ridge Down.  Unfortunately, because GreenLight revoked Ridge Down’s access to their collections website, Ridge Down has no way of knowing how much of the remaining $42,890.39 in unpaid customer debts has been collected by GreenLight; we cannot therefore determine how much GreenLight still owes to Ridge Down.  GreenLight has since unequivocally refused to discuss the matter whether via email or telephone.

ISSUE #2

On November 17, 2020, Ridge Down entered into a secondary contract with GreenLight regarding insurance claims.  The terms of that contract include the following:

·        Ridge Down agreed to assign all of its rights to each Insurance Claim over to GreenLight.

·     In exchange for those rights, GreenLight agreed to advance the full amount of the RCV (Replacement Cost Value) Insurance Claim proceeds onto Ridge Down.

·      In return for GreenLight advancing the Insurance Claim proceeds onto Ridge Down, GreenLight is entitled to 5% of the Claim amount.

·       GreenLight further agreed to assume all responsibility for collecting the monies due from the Insured and Insurance Carrier in order to recoup the proceeds that they advanced onto Ridge Down.

·    In the event that GreenLight is unsuccessful in collecting the Insurance proceeds, Ridge Down is not liable to GreenLight for any uncollected amounts.

As of today’s date, GreenLight has collected the Insurance proceeds for sixteen (16) Insurance Claims.  And, though Ridge Down has completed installation of all sixteen (16) roofs, GreenLight has embezzled $38,717.74 in Insurance proceeds that are owed to Ridge Down in accordance with the aforementioned contract provisions.  Furthermore, a portion of the Insurance proceeds that GreenLight has expropriated includes Supplement payments issued by the Insurance Carriers for reimbursement of the additional costs incurred by Ridge Down that were not originally included on the Insurance Estimate.

ISSUE #3

Ridge Down has attempted to collect the Insurance proceeds from GreenLight, pursuant to the contract provisions, since November 2020.  GreenLight, however, has advised that they have no intention of forwarding the Insurance proceeds onto Ridge Down, but instead would be keeping those funds for themselves.  GreenLight then solicited one of Ridge Down’s customers to request a financial investment.  Based on GreenLight’s attempt to secure financing for their business and their refusal to issue payment of the collected Insurance proceeds onto Ridge Down, it is obvious that GreenLight has misappropriated the insurance money, resulting in conversion and insurance fraud.  Consequently, Ridge Down has been forced into placing liens on customers’ properties to secure its rights to the monies collected by GreenLight.

Unfortunately, since GreenLight has made perfectly clear that they have no intention of forwarding the $81,608.13 in debt collections and insurance proceeds onto Ridge Down, it is respectfully requested that the Florida Department of Financial Services investigate these matters and assist with securing the monies owed.

Should additional information or documentation be desired, please let us know.

Apparently they rip people off then change the name of the company...The main company doing this is The Montero Group LLC. Just search them through sunbiz and you will see....dont trust them.
