GT Bicycles Not honoring a warranty

Purchased this bicycle for my son on 6/26/2019. Living in the northeast it doesn't get a tremendous amount of use. Under the evidently considerable 120 pound weight of my son coupled with the two year age of the bike, the bike's frame cracked. Upon cracking the chain grabbed hold of one of the gear wiring and made the bike unusable. After 4 hours on the phone across 3 separate phone calls the company rejected the warranty claim, despite not having seen the bike or inspected it. While this bike appears to have a good price point, it's only the appearance of quality, it's unsafe and the company doesn't stand behind their product.
