My daughter and her fiancé wanted to purchase a 5th wheel trailer at Guaranty RV Sales.

They were told they needed a co-signer to make the deal. They told the salesman I was willing to co-sign. I spoke with the sales rep over the phone and told him I would co-sign on the sales agreement. Throughout the negotiations I was referred to as the co-signer.

When the deal closed, I found out they made me the sole buyer. My daughters name and her fiancé's name appear nowhere on the sales agreement. My name is on the pink slip alone. The sales rep, Dib Banna, refused to acknowledge anything said about me co-signing. His manager had no knowledge of this sale.

Buyer beware, this company will do anything to get a sale.

Oh, how easy to judge, without knowledge of all the facts

I certainly agree with all you said. However, when bald face lies, disinformation, and deceit are a factor prior to the signing, the whole scenario changes.

Dib told my daughter and her fiancé they would qualify for the loan if they either put $10,000 down, or put $5,000 down with a co-signer. They both agreed that keeping $5,000 in a savings account as an emergency fund to make monthly payments on the loan in case COVID 19 restrictions prevent their being able to work. They then talked to me about co-signing on their loan.

You see, my first conversation with Dib, the sales rep, occurred, I said up front I am agreeing to co-sign on my daughter and future son-in-law's purchase. He clearly understood my position. He requested my financial information,  which I sent. However, when Dib saw I have an extremely high credit rating, excellent income, and property which is 100% paid off, he decided (ln his mind) he could easily make this sale breeze through by making me the sole buyer.

I was told all I had to do was fill out co-signer forms--online. Looking at the form I could see it was for only the buyer and co-buyer. When Iasked about this, he said go ahead and fill in the buyer section and we can just use the information for the co-signer documents. I said, remember, I AM A CO-SIGNER!

In subsequent conversations he always referred to me as the co-signer. Conversations with my daughter always referred to me as the co-signer.

When the papers came to me, I questioned them and he claimed all co-signers sign these papers. Dib knew exactly what he was doing.

What a load of BS

The only way that you, your daughter, and her fiance would go through the entire process and not notice once that they were not on the documents is if none of you actaully read what you were signing.

Just a note on Co-Signing. You have the same responsibilty for the loan whether you Co-Sign or are the only signer on a loan. When you Co-Sign you make a legal agreement that YOU will become liable for the loan if your daughter and fiance failed to make their payments. In fact since you are the co-signer banks will often come after you before they go after the other party because you are the one who is percevied to have better credit and a better chance of the payment being made. If you are unwilling to take this responsibility you should NEVER co-sign for a loan.

In the end how you ended up with being the only one on the loan doesn't change your responsiblity..to make sure the loan is being paid. The only thing that is lost is that your daughter and fiance lose out on any postive credit history that would be built up by making the payments. Of course if they fail to make the payments they also have no negative effect.

Perhaps in a few months you may be able to find someone who will finance them so you can "sell" it to them, and get it off of your responsibility.

How Absolutely PATHETIC!

For this deal to have been consummated, YOU would have had to sign the contract. The CONTRACT is a legally binding agreement which lists the TERMS and CONDITIONS which are legally enforceable in court and YOUR SIGNATURE says YOU agree to those TERMS and CONDITIONS. What YOU are coming here to whine about and TELL THE WORLD is for one second...not ONE SPLIT SECOND did YOU even BOTHER TO READ what YOU were obligating YOURSELF TO when YOU agreed to those Terms!

If YOU would have used COMMON SENSE and READ what YOU were about to sign, YOU would have seen what they did and YOU could have objected to those Terms!. Instead, you come here to blame the dealership and the salesperson because YOU didn't use COMMON SENSE! Oh yes, don't bother writing back something equally stupid like "you must work for them". I'll tell you ahead of time, I DON'T. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE???????????????????????????????????????????????????
