On July 24, 2021, I place an order online to heargenie.com for a single hearing aid for my mom.   She balked at the idea of using a hearing aid or that it would work.  She didn't want to even try it. 

So I contacted the company via email on August 20, 2021, and asked what the steps were for me to return the item and get a refund.  And Sharon responded very nicely the same day, with instructions and an address to send the item to. (Which was a completely different address)

 The tracking shows that the returned item reached its destination on August 31st.  By Sept. 7th, I had not received my refund, so I sent another email inquiring about it and asked how soon could I expect to see my refund in my account.

Sharon responded again on the same day, with:

Hello Colene, Sorry for the delay. Fulfillment has been a bit backed up but you can expect to receive your funds shortly. Thank you for your patience.   Kind Regards,   Sharon Customer Service Specialist | HearGenie  

O Sept 17th, I had still not received my refund, so I emailed them again and asked if she could please check the status.

Sharon responded:

Hello Colene, I have forwarded this to management, they will be in touch soon. If you could please provide me with the tracking number for your returned items.   Kind Regards,   Sharon Customer Service Specialist | HearGenie   So, on Sept 19th, I sent them the tracking number.  I also took a screenshot of the delivery notice and emailed that as well.

ON Sept 24th, I still had not received my refund, so I sent yet another email letting them know I had not received it.  I asked them what I had to do to get it done. I also stated that I was about to make a report for poor business practices to the BBB and whoever else I need to report this to.  And that there was no excuse for my refund to be taking so long.

I heard nothing back that time. On Oct. 4th, I emailed them again asking about my refund and I got nothing but silence.

So on Oct 4th, I sent an email complaint to the Federal Trade Commission.  On Oct 5th, I sent a complaint via email to the Texas Attorney General's office and to the BBB in Kansas City, MO, where HearGenie's home office is.     The BBB responded and told me that they sent a notification to the company and would keep me informed of their repsonse. 

On Oct 12th, I sent another email to the company letting them know that I had filed complaints against them and that I would be contacting MO's AG's office as well as filing complaints anywhere on the internet I could.  Hence, why I am here now. 

So needless to say, as of Oct 15, 2021, I still have not received my refund from this company.
