Hearth Financial Services Charged Hidden Fees Austin, Texas

I contracted to have work done by a local contractor here in Tomball, Texas on April 19, 2024. They are using Hearth Financing as their contract and payment provider. When sent the invoice by Hearth Financing on behalf of the contractor, no where on the invoice did it show that if using a Credit Card I would be charged a 3% fee.  

Once I paid the amount shown and received confirmation of payment I saw that the 3% fee was added to the amount. I tried to immediately contact Hearth Financing to dispute and cancel the payment transaction, they did not respond. So I call the contractor who told me the would notify Hearth to cancel the payment. However, today while looking at my Credit card statement the charges were still shown. So I called directly and finally got ahold of someone at Hearth Financing only to be told they couldn't refund me back the 3% fee because they use a third party firm that refuses to refund.   

Hearth did say they would refund back the charged amount but not the 3%. The person I spoke to refused to give me the third party name. This to me is absurd. My beef is the hidden fee that was not disclosed at time of payment, (only after). Caution do not use Hearth Financing if having work done and your contractor utilizes them for payments. You'll get ripped off.
