I booked a room for 3 nights using Priceline for $382. Upon arrival the front desk charged me $455. I protested but was told not to worry because the final charge would be $382. Folks, you need to understand there is a difference between a hotel room charge and a hotel deposit for incidentals. They should never be commingled. They should always be separate transactions. Moreover, deposits are nice round numbers like $100 or $200. I've never seen a deposit for $73. Well the final charge remained at $455. I subsequently disputed this charge and I contacted Priceline and we determined this was a Fraudulent charge intentionally made by the hotel. I'll never go back to these crooks!

The Hotel Industry Should Do a Class Action Lawsuit Against Third Parties Like Priceline

Here's my suggestion - Based on what you have indicated, you may have a very strong case for a class action lawsuit against these Third Parties like Priceline, etc. I would also suggest you contact the California Attorney General and the US Attorney General. If what you say is true, these Third Parties may have broken federal and state criminal laws. I would strongly suggest contacting attorneys to discuss what appears to be a pervasive problem in the travel/hotel industry. This appears to be a very serious problem that you should follow up on. The reason so many people use third parties like Priceline is because their prices almost always beat the hotel's price. You - the HOTEL INDUSTRY - created the 3rd Party "Monster"!

You are going to trust this scum bag third party? NOTHING has changed in the reservations business. If you want a hotel, flight or car rental YOU MAKE YOUR RESERVATION DIRECTLY! I would just about GUARANTEE Priceline knew about this BEFORE you got there and their M. O. is to NOT tell you so that you would cancel that reservation, the motel would refund YOUR MONEY to them and they would KEEP YOUR MONEY! Nobody ever needs to use these third party slimeballs. You can do EVERYTHING they do without having your money taken by them. These third party reservation places, all of them, have even been known to deliberately make reservations wrong so that the customer will refuse them and the third party KEEPS their money. NOTHING has changed in the business. The third party reservation places are ALL trash and nobody EVER needs to use ANY of them and THAT is a FACT!!!
