I was looking to refinance a loan on a rental property which was a baloon type loan. Reps contacted me in droves and I ended up going with Home POint. I had had a Chapter 13 in the past. I sent them copies of the documents showing them this had been paid off.
They said I needed to get my credit report corrected because it didnt say anything about the Chapter 13. You would think that would be a good thing! Anyway I wasted many hours trying to do that only to find out that it is impossible - only the court itself can file its paperwork. I tried to confer with my "agent" after this who never respoded. Incidentally thie "agent" for Home POint had more than one email showing he was a free lance working with multiple institutions like Home Point These institutions are themselves go betweens to actual lending institutions.
Basically, if they actually have to do any work to get your money, they drop out! They wasted at least 3 months of my time.
