I responded to an ad from Homeaglow on Facebook for 3 hours of housecleaning for $19. The person reached out and we scheduled a time for the cleaning. She did a great job. I had no intentions of signing up for anything. She mentioned that some customers had told her that Homeaglow had charged them $165 to get out of the membership. The following week I had a woman reach out to me saying she was the cleaner for my next cleaning. I told her that I had not scheduled another cleaning and asked why a cleaning was scheduled without my approval. She said she had not idea. She had just responded to this scheduled cleaning. I clicked on the Homeaglow link in her text and I canceled the cleaning that was scheduled, as well as any future cleanings.

This morning I checked my checking balance and saw that they had charged me $49 for a monthly membership. I went to the link again and tried to submit a report for a refund. I wrote it up and when I clicked "submit" a list of options populated. They included a $32.34 credit, a reduced monthly fee of $35, or I could pay $160.55 and the service would be canceled entirely.

There were no other option and I could not complete my request for a refund. My only option was to click on one of the offers. At no time have I authorized a monthly membership to this company. They have signed me up for their monthly cleaning service and have already charged me the first month's fee.

Please help me get a refund and put this fraudulent company out of business!

I looked at the website and they make it fairly clear there is a 6 month commitment.  It should be pretty obvious that you cannot get 2 hours of cleaning for $19 when the minimum wage around here is twice that.  Most promotional discounts come with strings attached, and this is no exception.

From the website:

The Fine Print

Valid only for new clients. Online appointment required. 24 hour cancellation policy applies. Expires after 1 year. Discount voucher requires a Forever Clean membership which grants future cleanings at more than 50% off. Membership is charged at $49/month (taxes may apply). Membership can be cancelled any time. However, cancelling before 6 paid months will result in first cleaning being charged at full price.

The terms and conditions that you agreed to when you signed up for the cleaning also make all of this very clear.  You also agreed to an arbitration provision with a class action waiver, so good luck suing them.
