I needed a reliable estimate of home value for my attorney. I used the homevaluenewyork.org website. This company is not limited to housing information for New York The initial charge is $1.00. If you want to actual report, the cost is an additional $18.95. After I got the report, I realized the information was no more complete than zillow or trulia. I kept getting e-mails from "Andy Wright" at this Internet address asking me if I was satisfied with this service.
So far my credit card was charged $18.95 on August 23, 2015, under the name "checkpropertydata." The company appears to be in TX. On September 21 and October 21, 2015, my card was charged an additional two times for $18.95, but this company was listed in AL under the name "OnlineHouseReport."
Now that I have caught this continual billing, I will be on the phone to my credit card company to stop the charges and get refunds for September and October.
Stay away from the web site for "homevalue.us.org" for ANY STATE.
