On May 2, 2922 a sand delivery driver upon learning that I intended to lay flooring, stated that his neighbor, Wally Escobar, would be the guy for the job. i asked if he was reliable and trustworthy. The driver assured me that he was. I gave him my number and Mr Escobor called and said he was available.

He came by the house on May 3 to take measurements and give an estimate-He brought Irene Escobar, he introduced as his wife, with him. They measured the area I pointed out to them as 480 sqft. I later measured 330 sqt. I told them that I was planning on purchasing my flooring from Lowes at which time he promptly informed me that his supplier was superior to Lowes.

I asked what his mil and warranty was on his product-he did not know, but would find out. I picked a model from a sample and Irene called it in. As i looked again at the sample, changed to a model similar to it and she called in the change. They said they would need 1200 dollars to move the deal forward and I would pay 1300 dollars upon completion of the job-I have receipt with that information.

I gave them a check for 1200 dollars which they cashed through my bank on May 6, 2022. They gave me the run-a-round for several weeks before disconnecting their business phone with no forwarding, and not answering their cell calls or messages. I wrote two letters asking about my advance. No results.

Its been over two months now. I waited to make sure that their intention was to take my mone and run. I have filed a complaint with the Brazoria County Sheirff Dept. and will continue to try to shed as much light as I can on these people so that maybe others, especially elderly veterans like myself are not injured.

So far my actions are in the public interest. I have not determined to file a lawsuit at this time.
