I used JAMS ADR to help me resolve a medical malpractice lawsuit for a botched nasal surgery which resulted to disfigurement and a permanent injury that occurred in 2019. 

JAMS appointed neutral arbitrator Candace Cooper in January 2021, who falsely claimed to disclose only 1 relevant case in 5 years with one of the parties mentioned in the matter and none with any others. 

In June 2022, after the 4 day circus, Cooper made some shockingly inappropriate remarks and comments about her hatred for plastic surgery and claimant. Then denied a CT Scan, refused expert testimony, stopped claimant’s treating physician from testifying and more shockingly, refused to accept the surgeon’s surgical nursing report as "speculative to believe" and denied all of the medical expenses and violated her scheduling order. 

On October 14, 2022, My attorney demanded supplemental disclosure statement questioning the impartiality as the arbitrator claimed initially.

JAMS released another statement on 10/17/22 concealing the actual facts which was signed under the penalty of perjury.

Cooper's awarded claimant to pay ALL of defense’s attorney fees, costs and interests. 

I was horrified and appalled so I contact the CA state Bar association for possible referral or help. 

Days later an attorney by the name of Ian Mackins contacts me claiming that he was referred by the state bar association.

He claimed to sympathetic and would do everything possible to help me overturn the decision and demanded 10k flat fee to handle the entire appeal.

Mackins collected all the fees and became the attorney of record on 12/22/22.

on January 9, 2023, JAMS issued a supplemental disclosure statement to both attorneys which now showed 1 open case with Mackins and an alarming 78 case closed and open case discrepancies with Carroll, Trotter, Kelly LLP. 

My previous attorney forwarded the email however my computer was hacked and his email ended up in my spam folder.

On January 24, 2023, Mackins drafts the petition to vacate the award which I approved but Ian Mackins fraudulently uploads a completely different version at the 2/1/23 deadline.

Once I realized I demanded Mackins to  amend the petition which Mackins either delayed, denied and dismissed.

on 4/29/23, I fired Mackin but he demanded to relieve himself in front of the LA Superior Court judge on 5/5:23.

The continuance to obtain new counsel was denied and my case dismissed. Then relieved the attorney even though he failed to do a single thing he promised and what he collected 10k grand to do.

Sadly this is our flawed biased justice system that protects the unethical judges, heinous lawyers and disgraces the general public. 

Stay away from JAMS ADR or you'll be sorry you didn't.
