John James Keenan Engaged in Fraud & Legal Malpractice Hamburg NY

John Keenan (Co-Chair of Mediators Beyond Borders International) took over $5,000 to represent me on a litigation case. He indicated that he would file a notice of appearance and respond to the pending motion to dismiss. He specifically assured me these critical actions would be handled. Instead, Keenan completely abandoned his duties. Despite confirming he was "working on" my case and negotiating timelines with opposing counsel, he never filed the appearance or responded to the motion. For many month's he failed to notify the Court that he was even hired. Eventually, opposing counsel took advantage of the situation because he was tipped off through Keenan's negligent communication with him. Keenan's inaction directly caused my case to be dismissed by default - the worst possible outcome.

Keenan provided false information on many occassions and the matter was dragged out. He actively misrepresented the status of my case while failing to perform the most basic functions of legal representation. He collected payment, engaged with opposing counsel, then left my case to collapse. Now he refuses to return materials from the client file or provide any explanation for his professional failures or even respond to letters and emails.

Keenan accepted representation, pocketed the money, and abandoned the client. His conduct violated fundamental attorney obligations and caused irreparable harm to my legal position and case.
