My heart is heavy for all that his wife, Kathleya Hawron, endured at the hands of her heartless husband. The pain her children have suffered, especially in losing their mother, is beyond words. I am utterly shattered by how little her life seemed to matter to him. He manipulated her medical resources, prolonging her suffering, and deliberately kept her youngest child away from her to inflict even more pain.  

What kind of man, sworn to serve, stands by and watches the mother of his child deteriorate without ensuring she receives the medical treatment she desperately needed? What kind of a husband takes what little money she had—her sons’ SSA benefits—even when she was unable to work, undergoing radiation treatments after brain surgery for a brain tumor?  

What kind of a monster yells at his wife for not cleaning the house after she returns home from exhausting radiation treatments? When I tried to bring her home from Korea, it felt as though the Army was protecting him, obstructing her from getting the help she needed to return home.  

Where is the justice for American citizens and their children? How could a system allow a mother to suffer like this, failing to protect her and her children?
