I have been playing this game under the understanding that it was free to play.  They had the usual items like most "free" games that reward you for logging in every day or completing levels to be able to keep playing without paying.  However,  they purposefully create impassable levels that need these "extras" to get through.  This was fine if I could accumulate enough items by logging in each day and doing the treat wheel and getting my treat calendar item(s), but these have recently disappeared.  They even offered a piggy bank where gold bars were earned and could be purchased at a deep discount.  GONE!

When I inquired I was given some buloney about they have test groups and offer different things from time to time.  LIES!   I have had the treat calendar for 5 years and its not a new thing that needs to be tested.  They just want me to pay now to get the items I need to pass these impassible levels, so esentially the game is NOT FREE at all.

They have this new chocoltate box that you have to complete so many levels or get so many things to get a tiny reward, or scrolls, all include passing multple levels including at least 3 or 4 impassible ones.

THIS IS OUTRIGHT FRAUD AND GREED.  THIS GAME IS 100% pay to play and they need to be shut down or be held accountable.  They make enough money to live and work on beautiful topical island in Malta, I mean come on.  Where are your ethics and how do you sleep at night.  This company has lost meaning behind createing something fun and enjoyable.

I am sure if a inquirey was done you would find that only those that pay a certain amount now are in the 'study groups" that get the calendar, etc.  I am absultely sure of it.  if I was wrong, they would have put my calendar and piggy bank back, and when I called them out on it, I got no response.  Yep!  GOTCHA.

I Have Nothing to do With the Game

AUTHOR: Jim - (United States)

POSTED: Friday, January 31, 2020

What I wrote is an understood truth among ALL players.  No one who plays on King, or EA, or anywhere else, understands there will be elements that will either require you to pay in order to advance quicker (which other games do) or the game simply becomes pay to play.  I did not revealed any truth; I mean that's just stupid on your part.  I mean you cannot be so stupid that you think game programmers work for nothing sipping margaritas on some beach somewhere?

If you are this gullible, and don't understand how this works, then you shouldn't be a player.  Seriously.  Go find a quiet solitare game; it may not have gold bars, but then you don't have to put up with any of this.

Finally the truth!!! That was my complaint that at truth was being misrepresented under the guise of "group study” new study for different features. My complaint... AS YOU CLEARLY did NOT frank’s was that when I complained out the disappearance of the daily treat calendar and piggy bank was that instead of the customer service rep saying.. oh we can’t offer that to you anymore because you aren’t paying enough to play to earn in.

they straight out lied and said it was because of new features and study groups. whatever the treat calendar wasn’t a new feature at all. Oh and the candy box... SUCKS! the growing plant- awesome! So my complaint is that I was lied to and I appreciate your honesty that is now PUBLIC so maybe you should trían your people to just say.

Hey we’ve got bills to pay too and so we can’t offer so many free sus anymore. TRUTH!!!! anything else is fraud..misrepresentation..Lies..con... whatever you want to call it. So just be honest... I don’t mind paying if you are honest.. I won’t if you lie to me. Liars get NOTHING from me and I’m sure many will agree!!

Bad Assumption.....

AUTHOR: Jim - (United States)

I have been playing this game under the understanding that it was free to play.  Your understanding is both not relevant and incorrect, and therefore not a ripoff.  Most of these games have a free element to the game and they invite you to play for free, either on your PC, tablet, or phone.  However, there are programmers and others deriving a paycheck from the company in order to keep the game operating.  There are at least a few ways the game then derives revenue:

  • The game will have pop up ads for players to watch
  • The game will have other ads that will run after a game for a player to watch
  • The game will require a player to pay for items, bars, boosts, etc... to progress

Obviously, there are games run by companies like EA and others that operate in much the same way as King.  Some are more generous than others because the game can generate more money on advertising during the game with pricing based on the number of downloads.

One of the funny things in your complaint though is the statement "They even offered a piggy bank where gold bars were earned and could be purchased at a deep discount.  GONE!" as if you paid to get any of those things, except of course you didn't.  It isn't a ripoff for them to take something away you were getting for free.  Programmers will often change the way it operates from time to time and roll out new elements all of the time for the benefit of long time players, and yes, players that pay.

THIS GAME IS 100% pay to play and they need to be shut down or be held accountable.  Hilarious.  Probably not a statement you gave a great deal of thought to.  If King shuts down, then you can't play.  Don't expect any of the competition to take over - they all have variations of this game - so the game dies.  If you've been playing for free, there is no accounting owed to you because you paid nothing to play.

If you're upset that you may have to pay to play - STOP.  There are other games you can play.  For FREE...
