I purchased a Nissan on March 7th, 2022.  At the time of purchase, I had $11,104.18 in equity.  I traded a 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer LT with 1,694 miles for a new 2022 Nissan Altima SV.  I was happy with the trade value, but was surprised that imports have a "bump sticker" for Adjusted Market Value(?). The vehicle was sold @ Full Sticker ($29,210 + $1,795 AMV = $31,005).  Although, the sticker wasn't on the windshield, (as it should have been), I was aware that this charge would be factored into the selling price.

Exactly 2 months later, I needed to trade back into an SUV.  I thought I would be able to maneuver getting in and out of a sedan with no problem.  However, it is difficult as I had a complicated knee surgery in December.  Thus, let me get back into an SUV.  Financially, I could not get back into an SUV.  I accept responsibility for having poor judgement.

I called my salesman (who was nice BTW) and assume he spoke with management.  I am extremely disappointed in that I was told my $31,000 Altima was worth about $25,000.  That is a loss of about $6,100 in 2 months. Huge insult (Nissan dealer).  I was asked if I could make a down-payment of $5,000 in order to get me financed at the same rate of 6.19%.  Otherwise the rate would be $18.9%.

So, I am at the mercy of a car I don't like and isn't comfortable and doesn't suit my needs. I will drive to and from work and leave it parked in the meantime.  Oh, I was also told that American cars are marked up which is why they are able to offer rebates and discounts, whereas this was not the case with imports.  Professional sales associates do no make comments of this nature to customers.  I know as I was in Lincoln Mercury sales for 10 years.  To make a long story (short)...

I Should Have Kept The Chevrolet!

You Can Always Tell

AUTHOR: Johnny Dollar - (United States)

POSTED: Thursday, July 21, 2022

All of Robert's comments were RIGHT ON TARGET. All of them. You have NO ABILITY to provide an intelligent rebuttal to anything he said, otherwise YOU WOULD. The end result is the STUPID, INANE and IMMATURE comment of "You must work for them" or some other DUMB variation of that phrase.

We've all seen it here hundreds if not thousands of times and you an always tell when the whiner has NO CASE and they know it, because that's the type of STUPID comment they respond with. Don't waste your time. I'll tell you in advance, I don't work for them.

Judging by the composure of your response, you sound like a "dealership" employee.  Yes You Do!

No you don't

AUTHOR: Robert - (United States)

POSTED: Friday, May 06, 2022

I accept responsibility for having poor judgement.

No, you don't. Because you spend the rest of your report blaming the dealer.

Sorry, but you had an SUV with under 2,000 miles that you traded in about 3 months AFTER your surgery. The first test drive you took should have told you how difficult it was going to be to get in/out.

Interesting how you didn't mention what the sales price of the Trailblazer was compared to the trade-in value. The MSRP of a 2022 Trailblazer LT is right around 25,000 yet you only had 11K in equity.

Actually, trying to figure out why you would even do this trade?   The Altima has equivalent MSRP and MPG ratings so you aren't doing it for any sort of cost reasons.  It has less cargo space.  And by your own admission is not as easy to get in/out of.

Seems like you are leaving some things out.
