We hired Jake with Local & Quality Home Remodeling Jax, LLC in May 2019. Jake had previously done a small fireplace job for us and we were pleased with his work and price. We were looking for a contractor for our first fix and flip, so we had Jake do some bids on houses. We were satisfied with his prices and looked up reviews. At the time, Jake had good facebook reviews. Starting off, Jake was working somewhat full days and working hard with 2 other guys. He had given a complete date of June 29th. As weeks passed on, Jake began to slack, fired his other guys, and was only working 4-5 hour days a few times a week. He would make up ridiculous excuses as to why he could not show up to the house and he started to complain constantly.  Fast forward to mid july, the house was not even 50 percent done. Jake had no desire to finish. He was claiming he was not making "any money" off the job. We eventually gave him a deadline and told him that if it was not completed by that date he would not be paid. Jake had then said the job would be done within 3 days, another week passed and the house looked nowhere close to being done. As we walked throught the house we noticed many things wrong, doors that wouldnt close, windows not properly installed, tiles not properly placed and cut un-evenly. We brought another contractor in for a bid to finish up the work. The contractor walked through and was appalled at his work. He could not believe the corners he had cut and the amount of work that would not pass inspection. The contractor gave us an estimate that was double what we still owed Jake. Jakes work was nothing that a licensed contractor should be performing. He is far from a business man, unprofessional, lazy and not someone you would ever want to do business with. I highly recommend to anyone considering him for your workto put your money elsewhere! You will regret using him. He is a liar and a thief.
