I was trying to reach Grow Financial at 1-800-839-6328, but instead dialed 1-800-839-6238 (a very similar number as you can see). Since I was confident that I had dialed the correct number, I did not have any concerns. No official name was given and the only option I had was to press one for a $100 Walmart voucher.
I was asked for my credit card information, which I provided since I was confident that I was talking to someone at Grow Financial. Long story short, the company was Locked ID LLC, who wanted to charge my credit card with a monthly charge with this "company" and the only way to opt out was to call them again in 5 business days.
I immediately hang up and proceed to close my credit card. I don't want to imagine what can happen to a senior who may find himself in this situation.
