I purchased a Feathers Sectional 110 from Valyou Furniture, which arrived in Mario Capasa-branded packaging with their documentation. After about a year and a half of normal use, I followed the care instructions provided — gentle wash, air dry — and the fabric covers became completely unusable after a single wash. They bunched, warped, and would no longer fit properly.
This is not an isolated case. A quick search online shows dozens of complaints describing the same exact issue with these covers — clearly a known defect in the original product.
I contacted Valyou, who told me the couch was manufactured by Mario Capasa and that they could not help. I was then directed to Mario Capasa customer service, where a rep (Mae) acknowledged the model and the issue. They offered a replacement set of covers for $299, but the item was never in stock. I followed up multiple times over the next year, waiting for availability.
Since then, the price of the same covers has quietly increased to over $800 — and when I asked them to honor the original quote, they falsely claimed I had “declined” the offer (despite me providing written proof I had not). They now tell me they “can’t verify” the couch because it was sold through Valyou — even though it’s clearly their product, their branding, and their documentation.
So now I’m left with:

A couch with destroyed covers

No warranty support from either company

A paywall of $800+ to replace something that was defective from the start
This is a bait-and-switch scam: They make a product, sell it through a retailer, and then hide behind the retailer when the product fails — even if it's their name on the box and their documentation in the manual. They refuse to take ownership, delay communication, and raise prices over time to avoid honoring prior commitments.
Resolution I’m Seeking:

Either provide the replacement covers at the original quoted price of $299
or -
Replace them under warranty, as would be appropriate for a manufacturing defect
Warning to Others:
Do not trust the Mario Capasa brand or Valyou Furniture. If you ever need support, you’ll get nothing but blame-shifting and deflection. Once they have your money, you're on your own.
