Mass General Health Plan - Failed to Reimburse for Covered Preventative Care and Ignored Attempts to Rectify Somerville MA

My family was insured through Mass General.  Despite paying an egregious amount each month, Mass General failed to reimburse for preventative eye care which they claim to cover.  The health care provider providing my routine eye exam could not confirm my insurance status because there was an infinite wait via phone.  As a result, I paid the full amount to the provider and submitted a claim for the amount.  I called to check on the claim 1.5 months after submitting it and was told that they take 60 d to assess and pay.  Checking in a month later I was told that the claim was terminated without explaination and was urged to file another claim.  After filing a second claim, I again heard nothing after a protracted amount of time.  So, given that I must now assume that their strategy is to delay payment and waste as much of my time as possibile I would like to share my erxperience with other prospective customers.  If you are interested in an insurnace company that might pay your claim and like to spend a good deal of time listening to bad music over the phone, this is the company for you!
