In early 2024, I purchased a used Mercedes-Benz from Freehold Mitsubishi in Freehold, NJ. I was promised the vehicle was in good working condition and backed by a 30-day warranty. Within hours, the check engine light came on, along with other issues like cylinder misfire, EVAP leak, traction control failure, and blind spot assist malfunction.
Despite returning the car multiple times for repairs, the problems were never properly fixed. The vehicle was eventually towed to their affiliated service center, Monmouth Maserati, where it sat for nearly two months. When returned, the car was in worse condition—now with a shorted computer system, damaged ECM, and oil leakage affecting the wiring harness.
The dealership failed to disclose or resolve these serious defects and has refused to take full responsibility. I’ve filed complaints with several state and federal agencies. Avoid doing business with Freehold Mitsubishi—they are dishonest, unresponsive, and put consumers at risk.

It's an 11 year old German luxury car. Did you really expect something different? These cars are designed with the assumption that you are going to trade it in after 5 years and the second owner will junk it after another 5 years. If you can't afford a brand-new Mercedes, you for sure can't afford a 10 year old one. Parts for them are priced such that you'd be better off buying a new one, and only the dealership has the tools to replace a lot of the electronics. Not to mention, after 10 years, many parts will not be available anymore. And after some of these "mechanics" work on it, the dealer will probably not even want to touch it.
