I am a new tenant in the building I moved in early May 2025.   About 3 weeks after I move in they tell me that tenant is complaining that I am noisy.  I told the manager I work from home.   I am on the phone all day I have an extra room in the apartment I use as my office.  I told them I am working and yes I am on the phone all day.  Then about a week later I am watching television with my 10 year old in the living room I hear this banging coming from the floor.   Then after I put my son to bed and I am in the tub someone starts banging loudly at my door like so loud the whole floor could hear.  I assumed it was for someone else and they had the wrong apartment.   Then like every other day there is a banging sound coming from the floor in the living room.

I figured maybe they are doing work in the apartment below me.   I was in my office working one day and the banging was loud on the floor and then someone was knocking at my door.  I was on the phone with clients and could not answer the door they started banging softly and then super hard they came back twice.  I contacted the building management to see if it was them and asked them to please in future to give advance notice.  I get a nasty email from the management company stating that a neighbor complained that I was making noise.  I told them that I was working I am on the phone talking to my clients.   They claim that someone was screaming which was not the case my son was watching cartoons in his room and I was in my office working.  I told them that I believed that there may be a crazy tenant there because someone is constantly banging on the floor and that I now have someone banging at my door. 

Fast forward to today.   The building is testing the fire alarms I am on with clients trying to work and my son was sleeping on the sofa I let the maintenance in to check the alarms etc.  They saw my son sleeping.  20 minutes later somone came knocking at the door again while constant fire alarms are going off I thought it was maintenance again.   Instead it was a black man with a beard and mustache and a white woman not from management but tenants who live in the building.  I had my laptop in hand and I told them I am working what is it and they tried to push past me and enter my apartment.   I injured my hand pushing the door to hold them out.  I called the cops and they told me that the management called them on me complaining that neighbors said there was screaming in my apartment.  There was no one screaming the maintenance people were just in my apartment and saw my child sleeping and me working.  The fire alarms had been going off more than an hour how did anyone hear any screaming it was a false allegation. 

I told the police there was no screaming and that I was working and my son was sleeping this morning and that the fire alarms were going off all morning but that a man and woman tried to force themselves in may apartment so I called the police.   Then about an hour later I am working my son sitting in the sofa watching TV and the police return stating that the neighbors below claimed that we were stomping.   We walk in our apartment I told the cop that I don't have time to stomp at the neighbors I got up to put some food on for my son who woke up and I walked in may apartment that is the extent of it.   The building instigates this they were just in my apartment early that morning saw my son sleeping and called the cops on me stating that neighbors said there was screaming.  I think that they are harassing me because I told them they must have a crazy tenant who is the one banging on my floor and told them if the harassment did not stop I would see them in court.   

Thus they staged this thing today to harass me.  I have lived in many buildings if the neighbors can hear us in here walking around and me as I talk to my clients it is due to poor quality of the build of this building.  I live here and pay more than $4,300 a month in rent.  I have had no guest over with the exception of my boyfriend who comes by once in a while to see me and my child has had no friends over.  He plays his games and sits in his room or the living room and watches cartoons.   We are not having wild parties we are simpy trying to live in our apartment and have been harassed since we moved in.   Do not move here especially if you have children or plan to work from home. 

The least little sound while you are attempting to live and enjoy your home and you will be harassed.  The class of tenants is poor also they literally tried to attack me and the building management did nothing.  I will be bringing an action against them and the building management office for instigating this.
