I am writing this in complete frustration after over two years of dealing with an unresolved, serious oil consumption defect in my 2020 Audi a problem that started almost immediately after purchasing the vehicle from Audi Dominion in San Antonio, TX, and which continues to this day without a permanent solution.

From the very beginning, I noticed my vehicle was burning excessive amounts of oil.
I reported it to Audi Dominion and was reassured it was "normal," but repeated low-oil warnings, the constant need for oil top-offs every few weeks, and the eventual discovery of major engine issues proved otherwise.

Since April 2022, I have:

  • Completed FOUR oil consumption tests, all confirming that my vehicle was losing oil at abnormal rates.

  • Endured multiple diagnostics and engine-related service appointments.

  • Had major internal engine components replaced, all to no avail.

  • Lost countless hours of my time sitting in service departments and scrambling for alternative transportation.

To make matters worse, each visit to the dealership resulted in more delays, poor communication, and temporary “band-aid” repairs rather than a real fix.
Audi Dominion kept the vehicle for extended periods, including the most egregious instance where they had it in their possession for over two and a half months only for me to receive it back, drive it for less than three weeks, and have it break down yet again with the same oil consumption issue on April 25, 2025.

This vehicle has become completely unreliable, leaving me questioning my safety and the integrity of the vehicle on a daily basis.

Further adding insult to injury, the Carfax report for my Audi reveals that the previous owner had multiple oil pan replacements performed within the first year clear signs that this vehicle had pre-existing oil consumption problems well before I took ownership. It is now painfully clear that I was sold a defective vehicle with a known history of oil-related issues.

In an effort to resolve this amicably, I reached out to Audi of America requesting a buyback at only the amount of my remaining loan balance.
Despite my efforts, including submitting the request while still within the qualifying mileage and statutory limits, Audi of America denied my buyback requests not once, but twice, showing a complete disregard for the circumstances and my loyalty to the Audi brand.

It’s important to note:

  • I have owned five Audis prior to this experience.

  • I have always been an advocate and supporter of Audi vehicles and their engineering.

  • I have approached this entire ordeal with grace, patience, and professionalism — extending courtesy to both Audi Dominion and Audi of America far beyond what most consumers would be expected to endure.

However, my kindness has been met with indifference, disrespect, and negligence.

Worse yet, the service department at Audi Dominion  particularly under the management of Modja, the Service Drive Manager  has displayed lackluster communication, poor customer service, and delays in addressing critical service needs.
During a recent situation involving the scheduling of a loaner vehicle (a basic courtesy when repairs would take weeks or months), I was given the complete runaround, ignored, and delayed. It was only after my father intervened and demanded action that any progress was made — an unacceptable reality for any customer, let alone one experiencing a prolonged mechanical nightmare.

The truth is simple:
Audi Dominion and Audi of America have demonstrated that once they have your money, your concerns are secondary. Their promises of quality, luxury, and customer care crumble when confronted with real issues affecting their vehicles.

I am deeply disappointed that a brand I once held in such high regard has fallen so short  not only in the reliability of their product but in their complete mishandling of loyal customers facing genuine hardships.

I urge anyone considering an Audi  especially from Audi Dominion  to think long and hard before investing in a brand that refuses to stand behind their product when it matters most.

No customer should ever have to go through what I’ve endured.

Get Out Your PUKE BUCKET! The BBB Goes Along With Their DECEPTION!

AUTHOR: Irv - (United States)

POSTED: Friday, May 02, 2025

This dealership tells everyone IN ADVANCE of their level of HONESTY and INTEGRITY which is most definitely NOT like their BOGUS statement of "We build relationships on "trust" and "integrity". That's PURE GARBAGE! ANY car dealership which adds FAKE FEES to the price of a car is telling the public "WE PRACTICE FRAUD AND DECEPTION! The FAKE FEE con-game consists of slimeball car dealers giving official sounding names to FAKE FEES like "Processing", "Handling", "Documentation". "Dealer Installed Options", whether you want them or not is also FRAUD and DECEPTION. (When you go to the grocery store, do they have somebody following you putting items in your bags and telling you need to pay for them whether you want them or not???") When any dealership slime plays these con-games with Customers, YOU CANNOT TRUST THEM WITH ANYTHING. Hence, we see their FAKE statement concerning building relationships on "trust" and "Integrity" is very clearly nothing more than a very typical car dealership lie. Oh, there's more! Ready for the puke bucket? This dealership will very proudly tell you they have an "A+" rating from the BBB! Why is that? Since the BBB says "It all starts with trust", how can they "give" an "A+" rating to a place which adds FAKE FEES??? The answer is they don't "give" anything! The BBB first off, is NOT part of ANY government or law enforcement entity. The BBB has ZERO POWER to order or force any business to do anything nor enforce any laws. The BBB is FULL of PHONEY BALONEY and their ONLY purpose in life is to DECEIVE the public into thinking they are something they are not and SELLING THEIR USELESS PHONEY RATINGS to ANY business willing to pay the price! They use the name "Bureau" as a very clear attempt at deception. They are absolutely nothing more than a PAY-TO-PLAY SCAM which every legitimate business person knows about. Because the BBB with all their PHONEY BALONEY did SELL this FAKE RATING to this dealership, that tells the world the BBB GOES ALONG WITH THEIR FAKE FEE CON-GAMES. Do two things and maybe three. Talk to the Audi Zone Office. Spread the word what this dealer trash has done to you and research the possibility of a lawsuit. Find an attorney willing to discuss the possibilities with you and make sure that attorney has experience battling the sorry car business. You may also wish to ask that attorney about including the BBB as a Defendant since they are telling the world how great and honest this slime ball dealer is. Ask the attorney if attorney fees could be awarded to you or can he/she do this on a contingent fee basis. Don't give up on this. You're being DEFRAUDED by the dealership and the BBB.

Huh?

An oil pan replacement would happen either because the oil pan is defective, or because it got damaged due to running over something.  It has absolutely nothing to do with the engine burning oil, which Audis are known for.  Most likely the previous owner didn't break in the engine properly, and probably drove it like a total jackass.  You do that in the first 1000 miles, and you permanently ruin the engine.  Especially if you also combine that with not changing the oil on time or using poor-quality oil.

At this point, the car is 5 years old and long out of warranty, I would imagine.
