While NAACP stands for "The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, this NAACP Image awards garbage does not support BLACK creators or those of us who are "colored".
Have you read the criticism from the company and who they honor? Well this orginization gave a nomination to an actress who goes by the name Awkwafina. She was cited for misappropriating Black culture. YES... an Asian- American actress got a nod from an association with roots that are supposed to help Black Americans.
This sham of an awards show also only goes for the popular shows without fully supporting quality Black creators.
The awards show is aried on a WHITE-owned station, BET- Sure it stands for Black Entertainment Television, but the network is owned by by the CBS Entertainment Group unit of Paramount Global via BET Networks-at the time of his report.
Furthermore, Ms. Carol Alexander, an entertainment and production professional plays right into the hands of this sham of an awards entity. When it comes to the NAACP Image awards, there is very little about it being for Black people. Please read this article to gain further understanding of this garbage entity.
The ancestors must be rolling over in their graves when they see how this NAACP Image Awards garbage honors other Black creators. They need to be ashamed.
