I’m reaching out because I believe my story might resonate with you and your audience. I served in the Navy for 11 years, during which I became one of the first African American nuclear reactor operators. My journey included milestones like excelling in nuclear training, leading teams aboard nuclear submarines, and training both enlisted sailors and officers—including the first African American submarine officer.

My time in service was also marked by significant challenges: losing friends during wartime incidents, enduring radiation exposure, and facing mental health struggles. One of the most pivotal moments in my life came when I hit rock bottom but found a way to rebuild.

After the Navy, I worked on groundbreaking projects—saving Intel millions, contributing to NASA satellite systems, and collaborating with Elon Musk’s team on cutting-edge technology. But the weight of my experiences, from the pressure of the Navy to the challenges of transitioning to civilian life, is a story I think could shed light on resilience, leadership, and the mental toll of service.
